I understand that argument and agree that it presents a *personal* dilemma for the individual citizen. But our leaders are bound, first, by their responsibility to protect innocent Americans. IF, they can guarantee the safety of the citizens they are sworn to protect, then, they can accept the Syrian refugees/immigrants/terrorists.
Anything else is a deriliction of duty.
Here is the rub, and what you are failing to see. Our leaders can not guarantee that driving a car is safe... should they ban driving to protect us? Our leaders cannot guarantee that many many many multitudes of things are safe, should they outlaw them to protect us?
What about selling guns? Our leaders cannot guarantee that they are not being sold to the next crazy person who is going to shoot up another elementary school, should they ban all guns because they cannot guarantee our safety?
You Conservatives sure are allowing fear to run your lives.
