He's has a very one track mind. He is a dinosaur along with his version of the GOP and they are dying! None to quick for the benefit of America!

In spite of our disagreement on this issue I still maintain the same opinion of you as sound and rationale even though we rarely agree.

If a gay person was nominated to the Supreme Court, by your definition, assuming that gays would respond favorably to any president who'd make such a nomination would be a "bigoted" assumption.

That my brother is absolutely ridiculous and ignores the very nature of politics .. vote in your best interest.

Equally ridiculous is ignoring that hispanics would indeed see this nomination in their best interest. If you have any doubts about how hispanics view this nomination .. you are on the internet, are you not?

In fact my good brother, it would appear puzzling as how you would come to the conclusion that the obvious assumption that hispanics would see this favorably, not as some "sheep" response leads me to the conclusion that you simply don't like the obvious.

I would have to see the statement in context. things taken out of context always appear bad or good at first glance, then when you see the rest of the story, opinions often change.

Good points indeed.

But the real fault I made in creating this thread was in saying the Republican Party when in fact it strikes a greater blow to conservative ideology.

This is something Obama is good at and he has put the Republican Party in a tailspin with competing ideologies within the party already boiling to the surface.

There is no chance the more conservative wing of the party can stop this appointment. All they can do is further damage their already sinking ship.

Only a latino women has a 'richness of experience'???

Irrelevant anyway...this isn't about a trial judge presiding over drug or murder cases....this is understanding the Constitution and Constitutional Law....and applying it without prejudice to rich and poor and black and white and male and female alike.....

thanks, the first time i saw the quote it did not contain "hope" and when i posted the quote later i did not notice the difference.

with that said, the words do not change the context or the meaning....but i will update my comment accordingly

and I've no doubt she will be confirmed....too many PH's on one side and too many cowardly lions the other....probably even gonna be a boring confirmation hearing......in the end, not much different than the one she replaces....

I believe as many believe .. including hispanic people. The right will attack her BECAUSE she's hispanic. With immigration looming larger, the right doesn't believe any hispanic not in their control, ala Clarence Thomas, has no right to a seat on the highest court in the land.

I don't believe anyone should get a rubber stamp, but there is no such qualification as "best." She has all the qualifications one would expect of a Supreme Court Justice and some. She has been appointed by democrats and republicans .. AND I firmly believe that her being hispanic is a plus for the court and should be considered.

The problem for the right is they simply don't know when to shut their mouths and choose their battles wisely.

If they were smart they would get behind this nomination and roll out the red carpet for her. They can't stop her anyway.

But the right has never been accused of being smart.
