Obama cant close the deal on healthcare

see I am reasonable. I just don't trust the government either side of it so im overly critical at all times about anything they try to sell us. If they come up with a plan that makes logical sense to me id reluctantly go along. Actually i wouldn't mind having national care. It could free me up to try to start a business. HOWEVER I don't want some crap snake oil.

I'm already trying to get my own business off the ground, and it's completely infeasible for me to buy private insurance the way the system is. And now Baucus proposes forcing me to buy the shitty insurance that's already out there with a subsidy that I may or may not qualify for.

The Baucus bill is DOA. The House WILL pass a bill with a public option in it, and that public option will likely be emasculated during the reconciliation process, leaving us with health reform that basically keeps them from dropping you for preexisting conditions and makes recidivism illegal. Of course, these are things we all could agree on 15 years ago, it seems to me.

It was the legislation compromised on by Republicans with the Democrats in the HEALTH committee.

not a single Republican on the committee voted in favor of it.....how does it become the plan the Republicans wanted simply because the Dems changed things that were in the House plan?......

So what's your point? Obama is supposed to write legislation now? Or that you're unhappy that you don't understand civics and want to attack every bill as though it's the final version and call it Obama's when it clearly isn't?

Don't be a fucking retard. Democrats hate the Baucus bill. Republicans hate the Baucus bill. Obama wants a public option. To say this is Obama's bill is completely false.

my point is that it is lame to keep dodging criticism by claiming Obama doesn't have a bill.....he'll be happy enough to claim ownership of any bill that passes but he doesn't want to be tainted by any that aren't popular.....I'm glad we can agree on the fact that nobody wants the Baucus bill....then we won't have to bother arguing about it and we can just chuck it in the trash....

now, don't you think that if Obama wants a health care bill he ought to start pushing one that everybody doesn't hate?......

I will say, however, that the most useful thing about the Baucus bill is the fact that it proves that no matter what concessions you make to Republicans they'll never support healthcare reform in any degree while Obama is president. If they hate the public option, they'll suggest coops. As soon as you concede and decide to go with coops, they tell you coops are socialism. If you get rid of them all together, they say it's partisan legislation and you need to start all over.

If nothing else, it shows that Republicans need to be excluded from the conversation.

silly fool....they were excluded from THIS conversation.....you admit that the Republicans hate the bill, yet you pretend that it's provisions were forced upon the Dumbocrats to make the Republicans happy.....you didn't make any concessions to the Republicans in the Senate, you just forced more crap on them that they didn't like.....

You haven't read anything but the excerpts Faux HQ provides to the teabagtards, have you?
