B) the base is on sovereign Ukrainian territory so what Russia sees it as means jack and shit.

Sevastopol is the access to the Mediteranean -it has to be secured.

You need to look at the history of Crimea, it was granted to Ukraine in 1954. also Crimea passed a referendum joining Russia.

If we hadn't been doing NATO expansion, and violated the Budapest Memorandum, as well as meddling in the Euromaiden none of this would have happened

So sad to see all this happening. I have a kind of melancholy satisfaction of my wonderful memories of visiting Amsterdam, Morocco and Cairo in 1975. And ooooh how I loved Hungary and Yugoslavia. I have about 200 pictures taken of all the 14 countries I got to visit in a 2-month time. They make me feel good when I go through them and have those memories of a better time in this world. :)
