There was ZERO indication that Byrd was facing any immediate threat from Babbitt. His overall history as a capitol police officer is one of mediocrity and fucking up. That more than any opinion of a congressman says Byrd fucked up and it cost Babbitt her life. He was a for shit police officer that should likely have been terminated years before this incident but wasn't most likely because he was Black.
They have to keep the titillation and allegations going to keep the MAGA properly indignant.
Byrd was protecting the lawmakers who were in the area, particularly the Vice President.
Do you think a person would be shot if he/she broke into a secure area with Close proximity to TACO? Expecally if they had a mob behind them with what appeared to be the same intent?
