You got to remember those comments are for his base Team America "Fuck Yea!" supporters who, more than likely, don't have that first clue to what freedom actually means.
I think the whole thing is stupid. The NFL owners hate Trump. Purposefully kept him out of NFL ownership cause they didn't want to deal with the prima donna. Now that he's President their scared to death they may lose revenue or anti-trust status. Neither of which appear to be likely.
So now the NFL in able to save face after Trump publicly whipped them over this are going the opposite direct. They're treating their professional athletes like third graders. It's highly unlikely that the NFLPA will permit this and what will happen is the NFL will just do what they did before 2009 (yes...this one is actually Obama's fault) when all teams stayed in the locker room prior to kick off. Once they accepted money for the DoD to put on patriotic shows before games and at half time they opened the door to this sort of political hackery. In retrospect I'm pretty sure they wish they hadn't of taken a dime from the DoD.
Is it your contention that the National Anthem wasn't played prior to that?

Explain to me what Pompeo's remarks about Russian meddling have to do with Hillary. I never called Pompeo a liar, I said he was an idiot. But further research shows he did lie. He misrepresented the Russian involvement before he made this 180. Plus, he's a hawk who supports torture.
