It would be a stretch to even say he is a "Reverend". Sharpton was licensed and ordained a Pentecostal minister by Bishop F.D. Washington at the age of nine

I personally couldn't care less if preachers have to pay for their housing with after-tax dollars. Maybe this was to alleviate the pain for people who take vows of poverty.

It wasn't "free" BTW, it was simply pre-tax rather than after-tax dollars. While a benefit, definitely not "free".

speaking from experience, ministers don't "run" churches, desh. And there are many folks who get housing allowances.... everyone in the military, for example.
