No free housing for church employees

:rofl2:

Obama will swoop in and save them, he cannot afford to have all those black ministers pissed off at him if they have to pay the tax. Especially before election time, democrats are already on the ropes over Obamacare.

If he does what is right then it's because he "cannot afford to have all those black ministers pissed off at him" .......You like the majority of the Right on here don't seem to have much education.

Sure, the prosperity theology evangelists have my detestation, every one of them whether black, white or in-between, because they pervert the gospel. Also included is Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, the white "bishop of bling." So no "gotcha" for you there.

Rev. Sharpton's not a prosperity theologist that I know of.

It would be a stretch to even say he is a "Reverend". Sharpton was licensed and ordained a Pentecostal minister by Bishop F.D. Washington at the age of nine

Is that some kind of joke ?

Make a thread about it then kid. Why avoid the OP?? Even when you avoided the OP you lost a debate and turned it into another debate. Pathetic moron.

If you want to be smart then answer the OP and stop trying to derail the thread.

why should you get tax free shelter just because your religious?

that is favoring religious people over people who believe in an unstructured belief.

Its discriminating

I personally couldn't care less if preachers have to pay for their housing with after-tax dollars. Maybe this was to alleviate the pain for people who take vows of poverty.

:dunno:

Either way, the church itself can help alleviate that.

I do care

I want everyone paying their fair share in this joint effort called democratic government

It wasn't "free" BTW, it was simply pre-tax rather than after-tax dollars. While a benefit, definitely not "free".

Under the law, passed by Congress in 1954, ministers don’t pay income taxes on compensation that is designated part of a housing allowance. The Freedom From Religion Foundation says that allows a clergy member to use the untaxed income to purchase a home, and then, in a practice known as “double dipping,” deduct interest paid on the mortgage and property taxes.

fro some it worked out to be free

If you run a church you can take the donations and say this is my housing part of my pay.

How many people get housing allotments in the regular world?

The University of California has leased an Oakland residence for incoming system president Janet Napolitano for $9,950 a month, officials said Monday. Napolitano, the former U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, will be provided the housing plus an annual $570,000 salary, $8,916 a year for car expenses and $142,500 for one-time relocation costs.

And people wonder why college is so expensive....

and the people elected her.

no so true with your guys

The people of California did not vote her in, you twit. I gave you an example of a fucking blood sucking piece of shit liberal democrat slime whore who is sucking the life of California taxpayers and getting free housing, and a car, plus a 6 figure salary.

speaking from experience, ministers don't "run" churches, desh. And there are many folks who get housing allowances.... everyone in the military, for example.
