first off I do not trust "Unnamed sources" especially with classified info.
secondly it's a matter of "when" not "if"

also basic common sense means you harden your borders -we do it with watch lists;
why not use a wall as well?

KSA did it along it's Iraqi border - not the same but a similiar purpose. walls work

I don't recall any terrorism events where it was determined the terrorist(s) crossed the Southern border illegally. And I have serious doubts that if a nefarious character wanted to conduct a terrorist operation in the USA, that this effort would be prevented by a wall on the southern border.

I guess this is what Trump imagines happening in the minds of would-be terrorists:

"Oh darn!. We've got this really sophisticated terrorism plot that all hinges on being able to enter the USA illegally across the southern border where there is no wall, but darn it all! They put up a wall, so I guess we'll just have to abandon our terrorism plans, be nice to people, love humanity, and go play golf instead."

What is to prevent somebody coming in on a small boat? We can't possibly watch every inch of coastline all the time. Or how about falsified travel documents and a freaking airliner?

It is shocking that you dont know about airplanes. half of the illegals come in by plane and overstay their visa. When you want a wall in order for it to work it will have to be tall enough to stop planes. Am I typing too fast for you?
