the reason they were is because they would have been executed.
C'mon. Anyway, the god Jesus worshiped said quite clearly that there was nothing wrong with slavery.
"Slaves, male and female, you may indeed possess, provided you BUY them from among the neighboring nations. You may also BUY them from among the aliens who reside with you and from their children who are born and reared in your land. Such slaves YOU MAY OWN AS CHATTELS, and leave to your sons as their hereditary property, MAKING THEM PERPETUAL SLAVES. But you shall not lord it harshly over any of the Israelites, your kinsmen."
Leviticus 25:44ff
In the Epistle, Philemon, Paul returns a slave (Onesimus) to his master (Philemon) and tells Philemon that although he (Paul) feels he has the right to command Philemon to free Onesimus, he would not do that, but would instead appeal to Philemon to do it on his own.
She obviously had never visited Memphis.
Yeah, he had some heavy lifting to do. Sometimes that leads to weird comments.
Now that we eliminated the bullshit roe v wade, society will certainly say taking a life because it is the wrong gender is not allowed - and anyone we can prove did so is guilty of murder.
Nikki is the next generation. Whoopi, at 67, is the previous generation. Time for the next generation to take over.Nikki Haley fires back at Whoopi Goldberg: 'If my age is all they have, it means we’re winning'
Republican 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley responded to the latest attack from "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who claimed Monday that the former U.N. ambassador is not part of a "new generation" because of her age.
During a segment on "The View," Goldberg played a clip of Haley calling for a new generation of leadership in Washington, D.C., before saying, "You're not a new generation, you're 51." She took cues from CNN host Don Lemon who was accused last week of making sexist remarks about Haley's age when he said she wasn't in her "prime."
Right now...it is not murder. I seriously doubt it ever will be considered murder. I personally think you are just trying to kiss some god's ass with all this bullshit.
It is true. The Romans killed those who openly opposed slavery.
No, Jesus brought a new message.
Old testament quote used to justify hatred of the Jews.
Pretty obvious that Paul believed slavery was wrong.
Silly comment. She is the niece of Rev. MLK.

assholes like you once allowed slavery too. it was not illegal.
I am agnostic. you got another retarded theory to share?
I allowed slavery?
After you sober up...tell us about your agnostic positions.
assholes like you did. They had all the excuses too, much like you do.
Slavery was legal - just like murdering a baby for gender preference is legal.
And those that justified slavery used the same reasoning - the unborn fetus is not equal to us.
says the moron that fails reading comprehension. no, I did not say you allowed slavery - the word like is in there. put the meth pipe down
as for being agnostic - why does my non-belief matter to you?
Good Morning, Frank...it is a unborn baby...ask any woman who has carried her child...If they're honest, they will tell you the same.... Think about your children... You more than likely never discussed the fetus name or helped set up the crib in the fetus nursery...and it's doubtful your wife had a fetus shower...No disrespect meant, of course....(Now, if it's an unborn child they did not want, they might change their story.... If in the case of a miscarriage, one loses a child...in the case of an abortion, one just loses cells...Good morning, you ignorant fucking moron.
Nobody like me caused slavery. People like you did. You just are too stupid to realize that.
The unborn fetus (a redundancy, since there is no such thing as a "born fetus")...is just that...a fetus. You keep calling it a baby...which it isn't. But I suspect that is mostly because you are an ignorant fucking moron.
Here is exactly what you wrote: "assholes like you once allowed slavery too."
It is right here on this same page...in post #65 above.
How can you be such an ignorant fucking moron as to say you did not say what you said just a few posts earlier?
Oh, wait. I understand how an ignorant fucking moron could do that. So...strike that question.
It doesn't. It is just that you sound much more like an ignorant fucking moron than you do an agnostic.
You have a wonderful day, now.![]()

And I shared my opinion. I respect yours, as well...( I never referred to my daughter as a fetus...Never heard it mentioned...she was always referred to as the baby... I have Never hear anyone discuss their fetus when chatting about a pregnancy...ever....that being said, in the end, the woman carrying the child does make the final decision...hopefully with the help of others involved, and with everyone's best interests in mind...It is a very permanent decision, as you know...whatever the choice...):TOP...a fetus...is...well...it is a fetus. It is not a baby. That is why the word fetus is used.
In any case, this is a very unique situation. It is a pregnancy taking place in an individual's body...and in my opinion, the only person who can make a decision about whether to continue the pregnancy or not...IS THE PERSON IN WHOSE BODY THE PREGNANCY IS OCCURRING.
That is just my opinion...and it is one which I am sharing here. I acknowledge there are intelligent, reasonable people who disagree with my opinion.
If you want to think the god Jesus worshiped did not say there was nothing wrong with slavery...you just do not know how to read. As for Jesus changing things...here is what Jesus had to say about that:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets. I have come, not abolish them, but to fulfill them. Of this much I assure you: UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, NOT THE SMALLEST LETTER OF THE LAW, NOT THE SMALLEST PART OF A LETTER, SHALL BE DONE AWAY WITH UNTIL IT ALL COME TRUE."
Matthew 5: 17ff
And if you want to think Paul "believed" slavery was wrong...ya gotta ask yourself why he never actually said so...or at least did not say it in a way that it would be recorded.
Same thing could be said for Jesus.
what a sophomric thing to say.
abortion is a nuanced issue - murder, slavery the such are not.
troll elsewhere king of the peanut gallery
I think there is NO VALID reason for stopping a woman obtaining an abortion for a pregnancy occurring in her own body.
.
Oh goyim of very low IQ, she never claimed she was Jewish she picked it as her stage name
But an abortion is not a murder.
In the Epistle, Philemon.
Nobody like me caused slavery.
One third of the Roman population were slaves. Speaking openly against slavery would mean death.
"Matthew 22:34-40
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
There are many other NT verses that share the message that we should love one another.
