In the Epistle, Philemon, Paul returns a slave (Onesimus) to his master (Philemon) and tells Philemon that although he (Paul) feels he has the right to command Philemon to free Onesimus, he would not do that, but would instead appeal to Philemon to do it on his own.

If you want to think the god Jesus worshiped did not say there was nothing wrong with slavery...you just do not know how to read. As for Jesus changing things...here is what Jesus had to say about that:


"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets. I have come, not abolish them, but to fulfill them. Of this much I assure you: UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, NOT THE SMALLEST LETTER OF THE LAW, NOT THE SMALLEST PART OF A LETTER, SHALL BE DONE AWAY WITH UNTIL IT ALL COME TRUE."

Matthew 5: 17ff

And if you want to think Paul "believed" slavery was wrong...ya gotta ask yourself why he never actually said so...or at least did not say it in a way that it would be recorded.

Good Morning, Frank...it is a unborn baby...ask any woman who has carried her child...If they're honest, they will tell you the same.... Think about your children... You more than likely never discussed the fetus name or helped set up the crib in the fetus nursery...and it's doubtful your wife had a fetus shower...No disrespect meant, of course....(Now, if it's an unborn child they did not want, they might change their story.... If in the case of a miscarriage, one loses a child...in the case of an abortion, one just loses cells...:palm:)

In any case, this is a very unique situation. It is a pregnancy taking place in an individual's body...and in my opinion, the only person who can make a decision about whether to continue the pregnancy or not...IS THE PERSON IN WHOSE BODY THE PREGNANCY IS OCCURRING.

That is just my opinion...and it is one which I am sharing here. I acknowledge there are intelligent, reasonable people who disagree with my opinion.

And I shared my opinion. I respect yours, as well...( I never referred to my daughter as a fetus...Never heard it mentioned...she was always referred to as the baby... I have Never hear anyone discuss their fetus when chatting about a pregnancy...ever....that being said, in the end, the woman carrying the child does make the final decision...hopefully with the help of others involved, and with everyone's best interests in mind...It is a very permanent decision, as you know...whatever the choice...):

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

There are many other NT verses that share the message that we should love one another.

But that has nothing to do with the fact that the god of those Jews...THE GOD JESUS WORSHIPED...gave them permission to own, sell, buy, trade in slaves.

Why on Earth are you trying to negate what is written very clearly in that Bible of yours?

Show me one passage in that Bible that directly says, "Slavery is wrong" or "You should not hold anyone in slavery."
