But I don't see you offering any content to question what the conservative is saying
I have some thoughts on this. I don't think French is facing the truth, I think he's trying to warp the truth to fit his world view. I think he's been stung because he realizes that Trump's election was just as much a repudiation of people like him, establishment GOP types, as it was of progressive policy or rejection of Hillary Clinton and he's trying to make himself look better by playing an I Told You So game here.
He talks about Trump supporters. I know a few people who believed Trump would do exactly what he said he would but most didn't, they didn't vote for Trump they voted anti-establishment but French seems to be saying all Trump supporters drank some kool-aid. They didn't, they had a clear choice and made it and French lost.
Tillerson. Tillerson has global experience, French makes that sound like a bad thing. It's not. We used to "draft" private sector experts into these high-level jobs but lately we've seen political hacks being appointed. I'm glad to see Trump getting back to asking private sector experts to do a little service. The only person more experienced than Tillerson who comes to mind right away is Condoleeza Rice given today's geo-political landscape but she's said she doesn't want to be in government anymore so we have Tillerson.
Priebus. Meh, whatever, maybe there was a better choice out there but let's face it, DC is full of establishment types and Priebus knows how to talk to them. Trump did also make Stephen Bannon basically the equivalent of Priebus and French knows that yet didn't mention it.
Trump said what he needed to say to get elected. Well, yeah, so has every other candidate in every other election in every time period, ever.
French just reeks of sour grapes to me.
