NFL player sits for US National Anthem but stands for Mexico's National Anthem.

Oh, I'm quite sure he's black. He announces it, after all...I've heard the same things he says here for years and years. People just need to learn that it's not always about race. And that people need to learn to get along as people, not as colors. It's wonderful to be proud of your race and ethnicity. Embrace it. But that's very damaging when there's no way to communicate without having that be the only focus. It's not necessary to lead with race, and pepper the conversation with White this, black that... Something always goes wrong. What did MLK say? Judge people on the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.

An easy thing for a possessor of white privilege to say, of course. A little bit of truth in it, but mostly this is a total denial of the experience and viewpoint of an entire group of people.

You wouldn't be posting things from elsewhere on the Internet and personal details here on JPP without the permission of the author, would you?

"Teacher, teacher, you forgot to give us homework"!
Are you in the same 7th grade class as Topic?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. No pun intended.

LOL! Oh ugh, I see the Unspeakable Thing's vomit. Maybe he ought to ask Toxic about all the private info she has posted about others in public forums.

Right, you senile old goat. Because I'm constantly lecturing everyone about how them darkies gotta pull themselves up by they bootstraps n start talkin' white and actin' white too, they wanna git ahead.

Your comment about another JPP poster not really being black speaks volumes about your own white privilege and your racism, as well. Now Toxic and you and many other of us whites try to cloak racism by hiding it under fancy flowing gowns of concern, but in the end -- it's denying the experience of an entire group of people. The refusal to even attempt to see through someone else's eyes speaks of a lack of empathy and understanding.... and it says that you see their failure to perform to your standards as less-than-human.

You claim to be part Native American. Have you ever read any of the history of the "Indian schools"? You should. Maybe then you might begin to understand how we whites and our culture are perceived by our black citizens and our other minorities folks. If you prefer videos over reading, I would recommend this.

:0) Fuck you Doofus.

"Your better off had me rolling on the floor laughing"

:rofl2:

They had them in Alaska, horrible institutions.

The point is, you've been wrong about every assumption you've make about me. I'm not surprised you don't want a discussion...
No problem at all.
Your kids would love me...How do you think I've lasted all these years? I'm all about people, not color...
(if one student would refer to another as being "black as coal" they'd get their azz kicked, at least at our school. You don't mock dark skin. I would think you should know that..)
Kaepernick is no hero. Nice of him to donate money. If he gets a contract, he should do more of that. You don't fight social injustice on a football field by shunning an entire country and ignoring/disrespecting the playing of the National Anthem and the raising of the flag...our kids know that. Most people do.

:rofl2: What fucking bullshit. What fucking 'inner-city school' did you supposedly teach at where black students weren't free to call themselves black anything? You're a lying piece of shit who obviously doesn't know shit about black students .. and don't seem to know much about history WHERE THE FIGHT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS HAS BEEN FOUGHT ON EVERY FIELD, INCLUDING THE PLAYING FIELD.

Not a goddamn thing you can do about Kaepernick, not a goddamn thing you can do about black athletes protesting in any manner they choose to. Not a damn thing your pointless ass can do about it, is there?

Go away little boy, you're kinda' stupid and an absolute waste of my time. :0) Teacher my ass.

"Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sat during the majority of the U.S. national anthem, but stood for the Mexican anthem before his team's game Sunday against the New England Patriots at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City."

Thoughts?

Mexico has nothing to do with American police brutality and racial equality. trump seems to forget why players started kneeling or sitting here in the US.
