Unfortunately for both the people of Florida and for the citizens of the nation, Reichwingers easily confuse bloviating, bullying, and bluster for strength. To them Ron the Panderer is a tough leader. Trump primed them well.

True, but I've noticed MAGAs on this board have become significantly more muted in their support for Desantis as the GOP nominee in the last few months; perhaps they sense his weakness as a GOP candidate for the nomination? I feel like Desantis is literally terrified of trump. Terror is never a good look for an A list presidential candidate. Biden was never terrified of Trump
 
all this angst and terror over the free exercise of a constitutional right for law abiding citizens, yet you don't seem to give a damn about the criminals and thugs that were doing it before this passed

So the governor that survived a recall complaining about the governor that just won reelection by the highest percentage than any governor in in state ever. And the governor of the state that is losing the most citizens of any state in the country is complaining about the governor of the state that is gaining the most citizens of any state in the country.

Well tell me again why I should listen to a word Gavin Newsom says. :laugh:

I think most politicians are terrified of Trump's violent white supremacist supporters.

Their next riots won't be semi-peaceful protests chanting "Jews will not replace us" with good people on "both sides". It'll be the nuttiest and most violent of the white supremacist extremists. This is something both the Democratic and Republican Party fear.

OTOH, I see it as an excellent sniper opportunity to put these brain-damaged bigots into the hole where they belong.

An extremely violent WSE attack will be cathartic for America, but We, the People will be better off when they are all dead or in prison. Preferably the former.

Gavin Newsom's goal from the day he was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has been the Presidency. (the fact that claims to have sub zero interest in the Presidency only reconfirms his ambition - although he is far from the only person with Presidential ambitions, its in no way unique to him). He's in California where he survived a recall and won re-election by a comfortable margin. He sees dissatisfaction at the top of the Democratic ticket with Biden and knows that he would likely beat Kamala Harris in a Dem primary.

So he sees two things at play. 1) He's positioning himself to run in case Biden doesn't seek another nomination and 2) he's increasing his national profile. Part of getting into national fights also turns attention away from the problems/challenges in California. That can work against you in the sense if he runs for national office he doesn't want to do so when the state is not in a good place but he knows people locally will mostly back him when taking on national issues.

One thing I haven't thought of is the VP position. There's been small chatter (think Elizabeth Warren) about Harris not being on the ticket again in '24. Newsome could see the role as a way to position himself for '24. But if Biden were to replace her it would be highly unlikely he goes with a white male like Newsom so maybe that's not really an option.

Newsome is an insufferable moron who has failed the citizens of California and buried them under 22 billion in debt. No one cares what a lying leftist Democrat has to say about anything, unless of course you're a moron on steroids which is what you are.

I used to have a great time in Florida.
Great parties in the big hotels.
Horse racing, dog racing, and Jai Alai.
Golf.
There used to be good boxing cards there too when I was younger.
I saw Ali fight in Miami and met Floyd Patterson personally in the Deauville Hotel.

It was a fun playground.
Now, DeSantisville is basically North Korea,
I wouldn't spend a dime of my money there.
Fuck Florida.
