New jobs for womens libbers....

I agree! It's the "you don't know how good you have it" meme...we should appreciate what we have and STFU.

I will say this, it is only by spending some time in the Third World that you truly begin to realise how truly blessed we are in the West and how much we moan and bitch about petty shit. Last year I visited the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide in Cambodia where around 20,000 people were killed by the Kmer Rouge. Pol Pot is on record as saying that he drew inspiration and succour from the writings of John Paul Satre and especially his concept of necessary violence.

It's silly to say that we can't have strong opinions about issues like birth control and also care about more life or death matters in other countries at the same time.

Are you really bitching and moaning about first world problems?

First world problems ?....who is that ?......

All I know is that these problems and similar problems are alive and well right here in the Americas, TODAY...right under your very nose, attached to your empty head....

We aren't 'blessed' in the west...we demanded change. You think all those women thrown into prison and force fed thought they were being treated with kid gloves. Don't talk to me about being fucking 'blessed' you fucker. You don't deal with the shit women have to live with day in and out. You're clueless. Blessed my ass.

I don't know anyone that is against 'birth control'......as long as you realize that 'birth control' is not abortion....they each mean something different.....
I don't even know if it was illegal at any time.....not talked about of course, not taught to women, but illegal ?....I don't really know.
and we all know that abortion was illegal in times past.....but not anymore.....and will never be again in a democratic country....
Strong feelings are a personal matter....not to be forced on others that have differing strong feelings....live and let live....

You're the clueless one....by comparison to times past, and present times in other countrys and cultures, you live like a fucking queen here in the West, and still bitch like a bitch.

Yes, I'm sure life is just awful for you. I wonder how you would cope planting rice or cutting sugar cane by hand as my wife's family still do in Northern Thailand? It must be terrribly hard deciding whether to shop at Walmart or Costco.

Yeah - strong feelings are a personal matter. So keep all of your feelings about taxes, immigration, energy, foreign policy, abortion, religion, gay marriage, military cuts, et al. - keep all that to yourself.

Birth control was illegal...

A brief history,
1873— The Comstock Act passed in the United States prohibiting advertisements, information, and distribution of birth control and allowing the postal service to confiscate birth control sold through the mail.

1916—Margaret Sanger opens first birth control clinic in the United States. The next year she was deemed guilty of “maintaining a public nuisance” and sentenced to jail for 30 days. Once released, she re-opened her clinic and continued to persevere through more arrests and prosecutions.

1938—In a case involving Margaret Sanger, a judge lifted the federal ban on birth control, ending the Comstock era. Diaphragms became a popular method of birth control.

1950—While in her 80s, Sanger underwrote the research necessary to create the first human birth control pill. She raised $150,000 for the project, and in 1960 the first oral contraceptive, Enovid, was marketed in the United States as invented by Frank Colton.

1965—The Supreme Court (in Griswold v. Connecticut) established the right of married couples to use birth control as protected in the Constitution as a “right to privacy.” However, millions of unmarried women in 26 states were still denied birth control.

1960s—Intrauterine devices (IUDs) first manufactured and marketed in the United States.

Late 1960s—Feminists challenged the safety of oral contraceptives (“the Pill”) as a result of confirmed serious health risks associated with it. Successful efforts led by feminist groups and consumer activists, along with well-publicized congressional hearings, led to modifications of the Pill.

1972— The Supreme Court (in Baird v. Eisenstadt) legalized birth control for all citizens of this country, irrespective of marital status.

1975—The Dalkon Shield, a popular IUD, recalled under charges that it had caused infertility in thousands of users. Although other IUD designs were not implicated, all IUDs were taken off the market under fear of litigation.

1980s and 1990s—Hormonal birth control methods expanded to include implants and injectables. Low-dose pills were introduced.

1992—Emergency contraception became more widely available as a result of public awareness campaign.

1990s—Rapid expansion in method availability and improvements in safety and effectiveness, including introduction of the hormonal patch, vaginal ring, new injectables, single rod implants, and transcervical female sterilization.

2000s—Female condoms are introduced.

Today—More research is needed in woman-controlled methods that protect against STIs.

Today—Barriers to access to reliable contraception remain for women world-wide.

Now you know.

You consistently dismiss women and their concerns. Fuck you!

"We are seeing the number rise in these 10 red light districts while the age of the girls is falling," said Gupta, adding the average age of female prostitutes in India was between nine and 13.
"We need to invest more in girls and women so that there are options other than prostitution, organ trade, or (becoming) child soldiers."

Too bad assholes like Sanda Fluke and other so called womens rights advocates don't complain about a problem like this instead of demanding taxpayers pay for their condoms and abortions.......

You're against abortion so you should be for condoms. Are you unable to make the connection?

Ladies come up with a solution and you knock it. Why, Bravo? What do you have against women having sex? Come clean. Be straight about it or are you not "straight" and, therefore, don't give a damn? Give us some insight into your way of thinking because I'm not the only one who has a problem trying to figure you out.

On the contrary.....abortion means nothing to me......what pisses me off is morons like you that refuse to admit what it is....
Deny that your killing a human being in the earliest stages of growth and development.....
Just fuckin' get over it and admit the science.....kill all you want.....have an abortion marathon, an abortion contest......it won't effect me in the least.
Its legal since 1973.....

And the rest of your post don't even make sense....condoms have nothing to do with abortion
Contraception has nothing to do with abortion.....nothing in your post has anything to do with the topic of the thread

Did you post in the wrong thread again ?

it sounds like you're just losing touch with reality.....

Condoms, contraception, abortion....

I really sorry girls....I never realize I was using words that you didn't know the meanings of......but if you search the dictionary you can find those
words and learn for yourself what each one means......the first thing you'll learn that they aren't really funny, well, maybe except to children....

And of course the science of human biology must really be baffling to you....

It is not often that I agree with you Bravo but I feel that there is an element of truth here.
