I policed the out side and shoved a few ground pieces into a hedge or broutht it inside.
Humidity is like 100% and the sun is blazing with not a cloud in the sky

my wooden gate along my side between the houses; I opened it up and shoved stakes on each side of it to let the wind pass thru that narrower corridor without tearing the gate loose.

I am dripping hot sweat. Gonna head up to the store and look for more cat litter. Buy some more canned ice tea.
Sit back and think about this crap some more

Sounds like you done this before...lol I was in a tropical storm only once in NOLA... After all the boarding & such we were a bit disappointed the storm was only a tropical storm..

Actually the placed I was staying @ in NOLA didn't even flood during Katrina...:)

I have been through this. I've been in Florida since 1999. You learn the ways of the place.

I am worried about my windows and roof still, but at this point.......?..it's all I can do.

I got the plan for the inside if it's catastrophic and the windows or roof go.
Cats go in cages in a closet. Dogs get shoved in crate in a bathroom. People shelter in a walk in closet or bath.

Stay away from the windows. Keep a way out of the house clear from anything. Do not be fooled by the eye of the hurricane. It will get stormy, really stormy then flat calm. Do not think it is over. When the wall comes around it will be just as bad.

Mariners have an old saying, when you are end of your line, tie on another one. You will be fine. Keep a calm head. I have faith in you all to do the right things.
