Flynn's contacts with Russia were perfectly legal. His only real offense was not communicating those contacts properly, which is jay-walking compared to things like using hammers and Bleachbit to irreversibly destroy evidence and obstruct investigations into major felonies.

I don’t have a link but my understanding is that Flynn and Obama had a policy difference of opinion related to terrorism and that was the basis for the ‘warning’. They have smeared Flynn as a shady character that Trump should have avoided.
And yes, that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China.
Anyone *sincerely* interested in criminality will give a hard look at what was going on *around* Flynn, rather than Flynn’s jay-walking. If 302’s were changed in order to nab Flynn, that constitutes a WAY bigger crime than anything Flynn did. The ONLY way the agents interviewing Flynn could have known what he told Kislyak would be if they unmasked Flynn and their conversation was disseminated within the agency.
Someone better have a damn good reason for that happening because that constitutes a crime—against Flynn!
