Thanks, Don but it's too easy with stupid liars like Tekkygal.

Only a truly ignorant and dishonest person would claim "Germany declared war on the US" and then plead "semantics" when their lie was exposed.

recheck your wwii history. japan declared war an hour after they attacked pearl harbor. adolph declared war on the u s against the advice of his staff in order to support their treaty with japan.

if we stopped exporting oil, we produce enough oil for the u s' needs.

unless i say so, my threads are never hypothetical.

i think that the u s should stay out of syria or back the current government against the muslim 'brotherhood'

We get more for our oil by exporting it at $4/ liter at the pump then by keeping it here at $3.75/gallon.

So....if you can convince big oil to give up 4x the profits? By all means....do so.

Unless you know different I believe that all of the exported oil goes to refineries in places like Canada where it is refined and then sent back.

My point was we didn't declare war on Germany in order to save the Jews. Which, if I vaguely remember the point of this thread, was part of a discussion of when should we intervene in other countries' battles - is stopping a holocaust or genocide a good reason? My point was in the past, it hasn't been a good enough reason for us. So we didn't declare war on Germany when they were gassing the Jews. Or when they were bombing the British. But rather, waited till they declared war on us.

Agree, of course, would rather rag on me than understand what I said.
