How can I be a "true friend" to an anonymous person in a forum? It's sad that rather than addressing Oneuli's points, instead you guys attack her personally by mentioning her youth and other personal attributes. You have absolutely *NO* idea what her personal experiences are, her education, her world travels, her friendships and relationships IRL. I find her extremely intelligent, obviously well-read, and particularly experienced and knowledgeable about economics and finance. The latter is understandable, given her career. It's a mistake to assume that because someone is younger than you, that means their opinion and knowledge is inferior. I'm old enough to be the mother of most of my professors, yet obviously they know far more than I do or they wouldn't be the profs and me but the grasshopper.
To put it another way, I'm sure in the course of political discussions you've had your age disparaged, as if being over 65 makes us suddenly senile. How did that feel, to be dismissed as irrelevant because of your age? And before you start hollering that "she did it too," look back over the posts and notice how Oneuli didn't bring up your age until you used hers as a bludgeon. The only thing I can say that disappointed me in this discussion with Oneuli is that she let you (group you) bring her down to your level.
Sorry sport but if you go back and read my exchanges with her you will see that I gave her my impressions she then started with the insults. Sorry when the insults start the gloves come off as you well know. As to the age thing she has used that as a crutch against others not just me in other threads. When someone much younger and inexperienced blows me off due to my age then that just reminds me of my youth and how I thought I knew it all. Boy was I wrong then as she is now. LOL
Lastly you only overlook her faults and defend her because you have the same political ideas. And as Edith Ann would say "and that's the truth Pbbt."
