It's very good news if a large number of immigrants want to move here. We need them. Specifically, we need a lot of lower-skill people in their teens and twenties to come here and balance our demographic mix, and to drive down costs for the kinds of physical work that aging Boomers are going to need more and more help with (for example, simple home healthcare services). It's exciting that we've got a lot of people who fit that description heading our way. Now it's just a matter of properly funding our immigration services to be able to vet them rapidly and help them transition to a new life here.... and we need some quick overhauls to our laws, so that they have legal status as guest workers, with a reasonable path to citizenship.
