Missouri students learn how powerful they are!

Really?

I mean it is from a right wing source, so it may not reach your and Rana's standards. But, here is what I can find are the dastardly deeds of the President.

Here are the complaints that are listed in the AP report. Now if you have something different, by all means please bring them forward.

They also pointed to his response to black protesters who blocked his car during a homecoming parade; he did not get out and talk to them, and they were removed by police.

That followed a September incident in which the student government's president, who is black, said people in a passing pickup truck shouted epithets at him.

Early last month, members of a black student organization said slurs were hurled at them by an apparently drunken white student.

A swastika drawn in feces was found recently in a dormitory bathroom.

So there you have it GayRod. These were the complaints.

Now who exactly is the fool here? Are you saying the AP is getting it all wrong? If so please cite different sources. I would love to know why this President had to step down. You apparently don't even know, but you have convinced yourself that you do you uninformed fuckstick

False

You can chose to believe the surface level story told by the corporate media story that is spoon fed to you, or you can read more about it. Your choice.

Did you read the article that I linked? What I bolded came straight from the Associated Press. Are you saying that the Associated Press is not to be trusted?

It is find for you to claim it is false, but don't you think you should have the onus of telling us exactly what it is then?

I understand if you can't

So now we are being spoon fed a story by the corporate media?

Please provide us links to this knowledge that you have that none of us do. I would be interested to see it.

If you can't, I completely understand.

No links, personal conversations and interviews of students. Ill look online for you.

You are saying you have had personal conversations with the students at Missouri?

I get it, this is like Trayvon Martin. You jumped in with both feet before you knew all of the facts, now you are afraid to admit you were made a fool of.

Don't you think it odd that the Associated Press didn't interview any of the students?

How could the Associated Press get it so wrong GayRod? I thought you had a lot of faith in them

A couple of people called students the N-word and someone wiped a swastika of shit on a dorm wall. Some dude went on a hunger strike until the University President resigned and the football team joined him claiming they wouldn't play this weekend.

I guess this is a "strike at the establishment" although I'm not exactly sure what it proved or accomplished. The claim was the President was insensitive in responding to the students concerns. Besides the fact we don't know if it was students who used the n-word is having a new President going to prevent some rednecks from saying it again?

Among the requests from the protestors was the President was suppose to admit his white privilege before resigning. Again, that's going to stop ignorant folks from using the n-word?

Kind of crazy what's happening here. Jarod celebrates but let's see him have the same response when it's him getting called to quit over something he didn't do.
I'd keep in mind that there's a minimum of facts about what has been going on here and only a few instances sited. I have a feeling there's far more to this story here than what the press has been publishing.

I like when the establishment takes a hit because a group realized they have power.

They guy walked away when confronted with questions about racism on campus and refused to discuss the issue with the concerned students. HE should have resigned. Its the students school and they should be able to influence the administration, and they did!

Yes, hopefully Auburn is Next!
Hell OSU's president resigned over making an innocuous yet insensitive remark about Mackeral Snappers.

Hopefully they'll waste a ton of money on this matter, so that resources are scarce for things that actually matter, and the Misery students will get the kind of education that they deserve.
Actually only Vanderbilt has a better academic reputation than Missou within the SEC. In fact when expansion was in the air for NCAA Football I was genuinely surprised that Missou joined the SEC vs the Big 10 which has far higher academic standards than the SEC. Most SEC schools don't meet the academic criteria to belong to the Big 10. Missou, Florida and Vandy are the only ones that do.

You mean you hope that there is lest your Black Lives Matter group has jumped the shark into irrelevancy with their latest charade

I pretty much guessed that, seeing as how Misery was an American state during the Civil War, and Virginia has always been a class ahead of the rest of the south.

I was following this story all day yesterday. What Jarod choose to leave out is not that this shows the power the student's have it's that it shows the power football players have. This wouldn't have gone where it did without them. What this means going forward remains to be seen.

"safe" on today's college campus generally means not hearing anything you disagree with. Since confederate flags are still legal the University can't stop non students from driving around outside campus with them in their car. And there's little they can do to prevent people so inclined from making racial slurs. I'm not justifying racial slurs but no diversity training or 'safe space' can prevent someone intent on using that word.
You're basing your argument on an incomplete story and rationalizing the rest. It's also asinine to say that students are so sensitive and clueless that they can't deal with hearing something they don't agree with. That's just laughable Wacko.

If Rana is right, and this was an ongoing situation where there was harassment of minorities by fellow students and members of the community and the President of the University did not address the concerns of Students who are paying large sums of money to attend said University than his ass had to go. Period. I mean the Governor of the State doesn't write a public letter giving the President of his States flag ship University a public kick on the backside for no reason and without justification. Sounds to me you are the one jumping to conclusions without knowing all the facts.

50 years ago Berkeley went through the free speech movement. Today we have a movement where college kids need to be coddled to the point of hearing nothing that they disagree with that could offend them. Forget being challenged. Forget free speech.
Oh that's a bull shit strawman. You don't even know the facts of the situation. There is no such bullshit movement to coddle college students. That's just more right wing paranoia. You're trying to portray the few instances that were reported as being the ONLY instances of such harassment when it's entirely possible that these were in no way isolated instances and were endemic within and surrounding the campus.

So now let me ask you a hard question. If this sort of harassment of minorities on campus were not isolated incidents and endemic harassment was occurring within and around campus of minority students and the President of the University did nothing to address those students concerns would you agree that his ass needed to go?

This is what the football team came out against. If you don't think college students can't handle hearing opposing views then you haven't been following what's happening on many campuses. For starters look into the whole Halloween costume email debacle at Yale that's happening. Look into these 'micro aggression' and 'trigger' words. Look into these 'safe spaces'. Look into protests over speakers who students don't agree with (I mean the preventing of them coming to campus).
