I am sorry but it was political correctness that allowed the problem to be ignored for so long over here. Don't have to believe me but maybe the Independent, a Left leaning paper, might convince you. Of course we have far more Africans in the UK that you do so that's part of the problem.
We made it illegal over 30 years ago but until fairly recently there were no prosecutions, that to my mind speaks for itself.

It's rife w/ examples of education and economy changing culture, and eliminating archaic practices. Just look at the U.S. - sure, there is the example of the OP, but the VAST majority of people who can trace their ancestry to these countries do not engage in this barbaric practice.

if that is their culture who are we to say they are wrong? All cultures are equal and should be respected. To do any less would be racist.
I dont agree. This country was founded on immigration and openness. We should not impose our cultural standards on immigrants. There should be no expectation that they assimilate. If this is the norm in their culture then we should let it enrich ours and accept it with open arms.
