Mexico claiming that the "refugees" will be costly to keep at the border

USFREEDOM911

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
Mexico is saying that they will need monetary help, to keep all the "immigrants" at the border of the US and Mexico.

I say let them ask Honduras and Guatemala for monetary assistance.

Have you reminded them that we still can’t get The Wall built and that we’re still waiting on the money that they were going to pay for that?

Trump spent $200 million sending troops to the border.. He should at least feed those poor people..

That's a lot of people to house, feed, and provide sanitation for. SOMEBODY must have already figured out a lot of this. I wonder who the 'Sponsor' is.
(Just off the top of my head, ... I'm thinking the Catholic Church)

The US can give Mexico money to house the immigrants, or the Mexican troops and immigrants will break down the border barriers.
umm. no.
our southern border isn't like the Mexican / Guatemala border where they broke thru fencing.

attempts to rush the border get the border closed

however the good news is the US & Mexico just reached an agreement ( pending the new president in Mexico)
whereby asylum seekers will be kept in Mexico untilit's time for review ending catch and release at entry ports

if they keep them in Mexico,
I don't mind helping Mexico feed them..compare that having them here and having to take care of them!

Smart thinking!

I hope Trump fully supports this. I wonder, because the idea is common sense, a quality that Trump greatly lacks.

Not America's problem.
Mexico was around a lot longer than America, yet they haven't changed in over a thousand years. They should be way ahead of us.

US reaches deal that would make asylum seekers wait in Mexico
https://nypost.com/2018/11/24/us-re...medium=site buttons&utm_campaign=site buttons
Rather than a few asylum seekers being processed each day at the port of entry in Tijuana, because the ability to process cases will no longer be limited by available detention space, many more asylum applications can be taken. More importantly, this puts a major dent in the scam of illegals applying for amnesty and being released on “parole” to reappear for their hearing.

After an initial fear screening at the port of entry, the asylum seeker would wait until his or her scheduled court appearance before an immigration judge. Then the asylum seeker would be escorted to a federal courthouse by U.S. officers, but would potentially have to return to Mexico again if the judge did not reach an immediate determination on the claim.

Under the rules, an applicant whose asylum claim is denied would not be allowed to return to Mexico. Instead, the person would remain in U.S. custody and face immediate deportation to his or her home country.

And the very first question should be, "Did you seek asylum in any of the other countries you traveled through, before reaching the US border?".

yes that's a good screening question, but I do not think it disqualifies. The good news is if they do no pass screening -they get immediately deported back to country of origin.
Basically as I understand it it ends "catch and release" if they come thru legal entry ports.

The problem remains though with illegal crossings, and last month alone we caught 60k
( im sure many requesting "asylum"

since the 9th has put an injunction on deportation - im not sure what Trump's options are there still
with Congress being too fucked up to do any reforms

Since Mexico is one of the countries that signed the UN agreement, they are the first country the "refugees" should have requested asylum in and since Mexico did offer it; but the "refugees" refused and therefore have no standing to ask the US for asylum.

fine by me. since they are almost all economic migrants and not "asylum" seekers.

I'm sure you get though they DO show up here, and then it becomes our problem -again Congress is to blame.
The Dems -being perpetual asshats will 'resist' because that's all they got

What lol?

The media spent most of last week castigating Trump for applying common sense to the CA fires. Common sense dictates that a border is an actual ‘thing’ whereas lefties view borders as racist constructs. On and on etc and etc.

A common sense question would be ‘why are Mexico’s immigrants our problem?’

Those countries are as poor as Honduras. Now you know why no one wants a failed state on their borders. You are your brother's keeper.
