McConnell: Trump is responsible for inciting riot

I guess since he was not tried in a criminal court, he still can be held criminally responsible for inciting the riot.

I presume no double jeopardy arises from an impeachment trial which precludes his being criminally charged for the same incident.

We don't like Mitch McConnell as a friend, but we respect him and know we have to work with him to pass some non-partisan legislature.

By next week, Biden will have Nancy, Kevin, Schumer, and McConnell over to the Oval Office to discuss the Bailout Bill, and have them all working together. These people are supposed to be grownups and Biden is going to make sure they all act accordingly. Biden is going to insist that he gets some Republican approval of the new Bill.

Besides, McConnell owes the Democrats now after the Democrats ended the Congressional Conviction trial of Donald Trump's Impeachment without calling any witnesses- at his request.

McCarthy should also be pretty embarrassed after we all now know that he was down at Mar-a-lago kissing Donnie's ring just last week, and that he was almost a witness in the trial, and now knows he better start looking like he is doing his job instead of being a TRUMPTURD AND OBSTRUCTIONIST. He better wise up, and fast, before he loses his position.

Biden and the Congressional leaders all know that Donald Trump is still going be tied up with his own legal matters and will most like be indicted and prosecuted anyway, and there is just no more time trying to get a Congressional prosecution with more important matters to deal with. HISTORY RECORDED EVERYONE'S VOTES. DONALD TRUMP IS STILL IMPEACHED- TWICE!

Time will tell.

However, those who planned and executed the Capitol insurrection will certainly face charges. I strongly suspect Miller and Junior are involved.

Junior was on Hannity tonight ranting about it. He looks like a guilty weasel to me.

I want to see Cruz deposed.

Why would Trump blow his own plans for that day out of the water? He wanted Pence to *delay* the vote—not cancel the election and take over the government. How was that supposed to work, anyway?

Why would he send his supporters to attempt something that was doomed to fail and result in the destruction of his political career and quite possibly land himself in a federal prison? Makes absolutely no sense.

A delay is not an obstruction—it’s a delay. Trump had no intention of ‘stopping’ the vote.

The delay was intended to allow the swing states to review/present their irregularities. But that objective was blown up by the rioters when they rushed the Capitol.

You might think this question is irrelevant but it will come up if there’s ever a criminal trial. Unless the defense is brain dead, they are going to ask the prosecution what Trump’s motive was in ‘inciting’ the riot.

And they won’t be able to simply deflect on it or will be a very short trial.

-Trump's own Attorney General said DOJ found no evidence of massive vote fraud.

-Deplorables presented no credible evidence of massive fraud in the 60+ court cases they lost.

- Swing states conducted multiple hand recounts and signature verification audits, without finding any weird irregularities, and confirming Biden's victory multiple times.

We can add to that: several states performed recounts and got the same results.
