Mark Sanford announces Republican primary challenge against Trump

The polls currently show Biden will be Trump in the 2020 election, maybe we should cancel those elections? Seems they would be pointless

Hi Bill,

The only problem with making the debt your main focus is that Republicans don't care about the debt.

Yep, tea partiers like Walsh were on a jihad a few years about it, now they don't care about it..

A real testament to American politics.....

What is important is what the party tells you is important @ the time....... Hardly different than Jehovah Witnesses changing their tales every other year or so......

So... affairs with goat farmers - relevant.
Affairs with porn stars - not relevant.
still trying to keep up.

What a stupid argument; you seem to be quite full of it. Polls showed Hillary was going to slaughter Trump. How did that work out for you dunces?

What is pointless are your laughably stupid attempts to suggest hypocrisy as you wallow in it.

Republican interest in the debt peaks during Democratic administrations.

When a Republican is in office they don't care about the debt.

"There is a long-running, almost metaphysical, argument about the GOP’s deficit hawkery. One school of thought holds that it has always been pure cynicism. Republicans passed the Bush tax cuts without offsets and paid for neither Medicare Part D nor the Iraq War. When they began decrying the deficit and debt during President Obama’s administration, under this theory, it was nothing but opportunistic political attacks, and it was obvious they would be abandoned as soon as Republicans regained power.

The response many Republicans gave was that the party had lost its way under George W. Bush, but it had recognized its mistakes and rediscovered its fiscally conservative soul. The Tea Party and its relentless campaign of primary challenges was proof the Republican Party had changed, and would stay changed.

The House and Senate passage of the GOP tax bills shows the cynics had it right.
In the Obama years, Republicans feared a debt crisis"

Let's just be real. Democrats would love to see Trump get in a bloody primary battle and Republicans want to avoid that at all costs.

Joe Walsh and Mark Sanford are nobodies. They aren't going to raise any money and there aren't going to be primary debates between them and Trump.

Now if someone with money and/or name recognition like Mitt Romney or Nikki Haley got in the race then that could be a game changer. Not that they would win but we could potentially see actual debates and Trump having to spend time running against them (though I wouldn't put money on either of them joining the race).

Message board posters are trying to hype up Walsh and Sanford but most of America has never even heard of these two. They are just enjoying the press coverage they are getting right now.

The point is Republicans are trying to eliminate primaries, giving them one choice,Trump.
That's fascism 101

BULL SHIT. Democrats ran up deficits for over thirty-five years and you dishonest hacks never gave a shit. Democrats did it again with Obama's Presidency and you dishonest hacks didn't give a shit.

Now you dishonest hypocrites on the left want to bemoan the deficits during Trumps Presidency? STFU.

Yes, Democrats would. But, for the reason you stated above, this will not happen and it will make the dishonest hacks on the left cry louder. ;)

Those two would be lucky to get 1% of the votes.

When the parties leader is the President; there is no need for any primaries. It's happened on the DNC side as well as the RNC side. It's only news to low information dullards like you who think that every thing happening since 2016 is new.

You should try to stop making yourself look like an idiot all the time. ;)
