How can you be surprised at this change in the Republican party? The fact that the Democratic party still uses pro labor rhetoric to attract those votes isn't relevant.

What is relevant is that the GOP is now politically dominated by the white working class voters who bought into Trumps rhetoric. This has been in the making for decades now. Trump was just the first one in the GOP to have the balls to use economic populism to gain the support of working class whites en-mass.

yes. Obama and Hillary both wrote off manufacturing jobs. Obama said it would take a "magic wand" to get them back.

I think the figure is Obama l0st 200k under his term, while Trump has brought back 450k

And it's not just jobs. we have to get China to stop acting the rogue nation on IPR theft.
The G-20 finally agreed that China was no longer a "developing country" as well..

Nobody wants tariffs, but nothing else works, and this is now the stick, since we've given them all the carrots

I've always given him credit for the auto bailout and the stimulus unlike certain partisans like yourself
who refuse to give Trump credit for anything -including mfg jobs and GDP.

But he did lose a lot of mfg jobs - why else would he say it would take a "magic wand "to get them back?
And it's not just on Obama -every POTUS going back to China getting into the WTO has not held China
to it's standards - or made complaints that China ignores.

Which is why Trump should be applauded. we're done trying to cajole China, now we are going to coerce China.

Goal post moving once, again. I showed where I have supported Trump, you claimed I never have.

I am serious about immigration, you once again make claims that are incorrect. I believe in strengthening our borders but a wall is a antiquated, expensive and unnecessary. American needs immigrants. I’ve talked about changing the migrant workers right to work here, making seasonal work permits easier to obtain. I don’t support unlimited illegal immigration, I know very few people who do, but I do support asylum seekers, and a process to verify them which is whatever already do. I support DACA and a path to citizenship.

i love good jokes. even those in bad taste - i'm not even bound by PC rules of what is off limits -the human condition is laughable considering all the worrying and depression and envy and greed and war..and then we croak out anyways..

Still there are some serious matters at hand, and my biggest criticism of Dems is they are so far gone with TDS
they can't even rally behind obvious stuff like China..even the Russiaphobes are starting to get the idea the biggest threat facing us is not Russia -not by a long shot. it's China.

When confronted da resistance sez " well the Republicans did it too" like de-ligitimization/impeachment is just another political play.. It was screwed up when the Repubs did it, and the Special Counsel was founded on horseshit Russian collusion,but hey! it's all good... Just kill Trump by any means necessary
