Lyin' Ted steals Wednesday

Ted Cruz is giving a speech right now, ensuring that he remains the story through Donald's big day.

And he goes mano to mano as you righties like to say, and brings the big balls.

"Any pledge abrogated...when it became personal...I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father."

Many say he committed career suicide yesterday. Remember who said the jury is still out big time.

Oh man. LMAO Donald schlonged again!

Trump is a total ass clown, and I'm still going to have to vote for him. My God has this country gotten stupid and corrupt.

That's the easy wisdom now, and could end up being true.

Cruz placed his bets. His money is on Trump not only losing in nov, but going down so big and bad electorally that the party must have a come to jesus moment.

How's Cruz gonna look then?

That's when we'll know. We don't know today. Anybody who claims they do is a liar or a fool. Plenty of those here.

I scoff at Trump predictions lol. The Cruz gambit is either being set up for a run in 2020---or becoming a footnote. He left no room for the in-between.

This was really perfect, yesterday.

I thought Pence delivered a pretty solid political speech, especially for a conservative audience. It should have been his night.

But, of course, Trump had to show up AGAIN. That guy needs so much attention.

And I don't think there was more than 2 minutes of coverage for the Pence speech on any of the networks after the convention ended. It was a Cruz fest. I'm not sure if this week could have gone worse for Trump.

Yeah - there was a lot of "political suicide" stuff last night. But you're right...who knows what the mindset will be if it's a near-solid blue map in November? Cruz could look like a genius.

What a cold political calculation. He really is pretty scary in his own right.

Missing the mark as usual. This helped solidify conservative support behind trump. A lot of former Cruz supporters are disgusted with him now, the guy that managed his campaign in Indiana says he regrets supporting Cruz. Other conservatives and even big cruz supporters are calling it political suicide. CNN just did a poll of undecideds and none of them liked what Cruz did. People feel Cruz should have stuck by his pledge or not showed up at all. He took conservatives that were meh on Trump and finally gave them a reason to feel sympathetic to Trump. Cruz pissed his own anti-establishment conservative contingent off and have firmly pushed them into trump's corner.

Trump also apparently knew that Cruz did not plan to endorse him. Trump knew that but still let him make his speech.

The party largely came together tonight, thanks to Ted Cruz.

I think Gingrich nailed the coffin shut on Ted....Cruz is destined to be the new Pat Buchanen.......

I heard Cruz was given that time slot in exchange for not having his name placed in nomination.

Oh he's terrifying, he's the lizard man. I hope he is dead after this. And maybe if Trump loses really badly they'll blame Cruz, I don't know. But yeah he may look like a genius. A lizard genius. Scary.

its worse than that......he's played his hand as the guy who intends to take him down.......nobody is going to forgive him that......shucks, he was the guy who whined the loudest about whether Trump would pledge to support the eventual nominee......

What are you talking about? I'm not counting on anything. You people are putting on a show and I'm enjoying it. Boy everything is the liberals' fault huh!! Even Ted Cruz! You people have no personal responsibility.

we lack personal responsibility just because we know you're lapping up Ted's decision like a feral kitten with it's first bowl of cream?.......

Republicans forgave Trump for disparaging McCain's military service in about a day. Political memories are short.

Trump completely insulted Cruz's wife and insinuated that his father was involved in the JFK assassination. Most reasonable people will end up understanding why he wasn't all gung-ho about endorsing Trump.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict you are going to hate EVERYTHING about Trumps speech.

Au contraire.

I think I'm going to love every second of it. There are so many exciting possibilities. It's Trump - he really could spend the whole time ripping the media for the plagiarism story, or something along those lines. It has the potential to be an epic disaster.

Or, he could go full teleprompter, and it could be surprisingly boring and uninspiring, because that's not his thing at all.

Can't wait.

i actually think that speech was as close to a cruz endorsement as your goign to get. At least he told people not to stay home.

that's what Gingrich said.....he poked Ted in the eye and said "when Ted said to vote for someone who would protect the constitution he was really saying vote for Trump....because he's the only candidate out there who will protect the constitution".......got the loudest cheer of the convention so far........

Well, someone tweeted this hysterical thing "you know trump now might be a good time spill those beans on heidi".

So if you remember Trump threatened to "Spill the beans on Heidi cruz".

I mean, I'm not saying this would happen, I could only dream right? But imagine Trump gets so pissed, and you know he's pissed, that he begins his convention speech by "spilling the beans about Heidi"?

Is that too crazy to imagine? Not anymore, not really!
