I think illegal immigration is much higher on sessions priority list too. But we will see. If you are convinced they will go hard after marijuana then you are. One of the things you see about trump is that most of the time when he says "leave it to the states" it is code for "I dont care about the issue dont bother me with it"

Yes but!

There was a viable marijuana trade in these States BEFORE their laws changed.

So what scratching petty pot busts off the list of police duties has accomplished is to kneecap the vitality if not the viability of that black market.

It's not a direct one to one in either employment, or $dollars.

But it is a transfer from a very profitable business for the criminals, to a very remunerative revenue source for government, including secondary and tertiary economic and other benefits. So we win on BOTH sides of that equation.

Additional benefits accrue to our criminal justice hierarchy, as we can flush out the petty pot offenses from:
- our police blotters
- our law courts
- our jail systems

It's not easy to find a down-side to ending the Drug War; even if we must do so in such pathetically small increments.

- A new AG who promises to oppose the will of over 60% of Americans, and the free voting of 30+ states, to take us back to the dark ages on marijuana with tougher punishments and federal overrides of states rights
- A President-elect who has promised to change the make-up of the Supreme Court to one that will set a woman's right to choose back 5 decades.
- Minorities, ethnic groups, religious groups, women & others all fearful of measures like stop & frisk, infringement on basic rights, jail, deportation, discrimination, et al.

Bring on 2020. Trump has ALREADY overreached, and his appointments so far should lay to rest any claims from good ol' Bernie voters that Clinton & Trump were basically the same.

The bolded is interesting. Most of my posts on this board have been very critical of Hillary. I've started at least 3 threads about what a terrible choice we have this election, and talk a lot about her dishonesty, her lack of core principles & just generally how uninspiring she is.

This is the 1st thread that I've started about her that really gives her any credit, and it's a pretty negative thing I'm giving her credit for. She decided to take the low road, but I believe & have always thought that the Clintons are very effective campaigners, and especially when it comes to finding a message, defining an opponent and staying focused on that. I knew when I started the thread that some knee-jerk righties would be all "you loves Hillary! I just know'd it!", but it's really just cynical recognition of what she does best.
