I don't understand. I'm anti-war. I blame every war on every president who was in office at the time. I may change that view if and when an enemy launches a nuke at the US.

And it's a fairly well kept secret:
there is a lot of "Pentagon brass" (U.S. military commanders) that share your anti-war sentiment.

The political complication in that:
some U.S. legislators that vote Pentagon funding do so on that principle: if we have the most lethal military in the world, we won't need to actually use it in war; only parades.

BUT !!

There are pin-heads that occasionally hold sway that say:
we have it.
OF COURSE we should use it. That's what it's for !!

If you take a closer look at history:

FDR skirted the Nazi blitz krieg w/ things like "lend lease" etc.
He pretended to be neutral. But there was no doubt about his preference.

The U.S. didn't start the war with Japan by bombing Tokyo.
Japan started the war against U.S. w/ their surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. iirc congress declared war the next day.

BUT !!

Up to that point, FDR promoted (however unpersuasively) the appearance of U.S. neutrality. Blaming our war with Japan on FDR would seem to be a reach.

My grandfather built the house in 1924.
It is one of the most energy efficient designs I have ever seen.
Like most wooden structures in Norway it will still be here in a thousand years. The question is if I can afford watetfront property with it's own dock in southern Norway. That is what I am attempting to discern.
