I don't think right-wing fantasies about 'race' have much to do with the issue. The greatest exponents of terror over the last half-century have been those who attacked the Middle East to steal their oil, and they certainly weren't Muslim. Some of them, at a push, would, I suppose, have claimed to be Christian.

Spreading democracy is a noble concept but democracy just doesn't work in some cultures. There's a reason the Middle East is dominated by strong men and theocracies.

Maybe during her extended debate prep, someone will inform Hillary that Middle East cultures have an established track record of voting themselves into Islamist rule.

Maybe Matt Lauer will ask Hillary why that is, and why she clings to the dated notion that democracy can be spread through power in the Middle East---in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.

Well, there's always hope he'd ask something like that lol. Even if it's a fool's hope.
