He seems to be getting a fair trial. The judge's rulings prevent either side from using prejudicial language. The first prosecution witness seems to have helped the defense as much as the prosecution. Some conflicting testimony makes for difficult decisions by the jury.

The estimate was 2-3 weeks. I was surprised jury selection only took one day.

I watched the O.J. and Casey Anthony trial completely and although I think they were both guilty (of something in the Anthony case) the state did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt the elements of the crime.

Reaching an opinion based on media reports, pictures, videos, etc. is very different than following the entire trial. In this case you can predict the opinions of the JPP posters about the trial based on their political opinions. Most seems to have already decided about his guilt before the trial is even half through.

There's six serious charges on Kyle. I doubt he'll be convicted on all six and maybe only the two "endangering" charges plus the weapons charges. IIRC, the statutes on each, due to the weapons charge, carries an extra 5 years each.

Have his friends pled out on their charges or going to trial?
