Kuwait In NATO In '90?

The defense of Kuwait was sanctioned by the UN and a unanimous vote by the Security Council.

I haven't corresponded with anyone in Russia who believes NATO atrocities are occuring in Ukraine.

Russia had to eventually turn tail and run from Afghanistan, because it was an unpopular war and the government realized it was futile.

I don't think the Ukraine invasion has broad popular support in Russia, but a NATO-Russia war will undoubtedly change that calculus.

Edit to add- I read that USA is negotiating with Poland to transfer Polish MIG-29s to Ukraine.

the "coalition of the coerced", I believe it was called. Daddy Bush and some Kuwaiti first family members LIED to get that defense....one of many lies regarding Iraq. Many US vets said that they wouldn't go to die for "an oil company with a flag".

Ukraine is already lost. We had the opportunity to shut this war down through negotiation before it even started but Biden fucked it up by taking a hard line. Wimps like Biden should never try faking a hard line,....guys like Putin just look at him and laugh,...like..yeah right Joe, surrrrrre you will. And Putin was right. Joe wont do shit about Ukraine other than sanctions and TRYING to send them arms. Too late. Russia has it now, isnt giving it up, and will have it as long as they want it. We wont do shit other than be humiliated. Thanks Joe,....cock sucker.

Sorry, but the blue print for what's going down in the Ukraine was laid out by your orange faced god during his 4 years (a day late and a dollar short on those defensive missiles that came with stipulations). And in typical MAGA fashion, the parrot squawk is to pretend that everything done by a republican administration magically stops and dissipates when a term ends. That way, the Dem administration gets total blame for everything.

Sorry, but that BS didn't work with Reagan or the Bush Crime family, and it aint' working now for anyone who reads/listens to more than Murdoch media. Biden never met a war he didn't like in his congressional career, but this time he's going to have to use his brain and NOT make things worse....if that's possible.

He does but we are choking the life out of him with sanctions. It’s a bad situation.
Terrible situation. Each day is harder and harder to watch. I'm really not sure how these sanctions are going to play out?

At some point, I fully expect him to blow both nuke plants and poison all of Europe

I’d be very surprised by that. He’d be screwing himself. And of course we’d have no choice but to engage. So that’s pretty damn suicidal but…. Who knows. I don’t think he’s stable. The idea of trump and Putin in charge of the two largest nuclear arsenals is truly frightening. But that’s where they’re headed.

I started a thread this morning. Maybe last night.

If the entire world is so afraid of Putin because he's crazy enough to resort to nukes, then what is everyone waiting for?

If he's going to use them, then he'll use them when he advances against NATO next year.

I understand the concept of 'cooler heads', but you're dealing with a madman.

All of this pearl clutching is doing nothing but allowing him to embed himself wherever he wants.

Starving his citizens might or might not work. He doesn't care about human life. Like trump, he isn't capable.

So we wait and allow Wall St. to drive oil up to $500/bbl, in the name of doing this the right way?

If he's crazy enough to use nuclear weapons, knowing it will be the end of himself, then what will stop him from blowing the power plants when he's backed against a wall?
