I haven't corresponded with anyone in Russia who believes NATO atrocities are occuring in Ukraine.

Putin cited NATO expansion as his reason to launch this war. When he shows the devastation from Russian attacks, he claims it is being done by the West. I would say the masses in Russia believe the Putin line of bullshit. I know that the youth in Russia are working hard to get the truth out, to their own peril.

Russia had to eventually turn tail and run from Afghanistan, because it was an unpopular war and the government realized it was futile.

Hard to compare the two. Afg. fighters literally lived in caves. Putin is making a modern Ukraine unlivable. He now controls the biggest nuke facility in Europe. I don't trust him to keep that intact in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years when he controls Ukraine and NATO finally moves in to regain control.

Edit to add- I read that USA is negotiating with Poland to transfer Polish MIG-29s to Ukraine.

I saw that too, and each day that is wasted the planes will be useless.

Right now it's a waiting game to see if starving Russians will eventually overthrow Putin.

Let's be honest about this whole NATO/no fly zone issue.

The world believes that Putin is crazy enough to destroy the entire world with nukes.

If this is a NATO/Non NATO issue, why did we come to the aid of Kuwait during Desert Shield/Storm?

Because we knew that we had severe military advantages over Iraq.

We do over Russia too, but Putin might just be crazy enough to 'go there'.


Personally, I think a no fly zone is past due, and let Russia make the decision to send aircraft into Ukraine airspace or not.

I also understand the 'cooler heads' angle, but Putin is destroying the entire country with missiles. Will he really take on the entire world before someone inside his inner circle puts him out of his misery?
