There is widespread consensus among scientists and public health experts that the herd immunity threshold is not attainable — at least not in the foreseeable future, and perhaps not ever.

Instead, they are coming to the conclusion that rather than making a long-promised exit, the virus will most likely become a manageable threat that will continue to circulate in the United States for years to come, still causing hospitalizations and deaths.

If pachys are allowed to opt out of getting their shots, that contributes to a national health crisis.

The solution isn't that complicated.

To recap: first the herd immunity number was 60%. Then, inexplicably, Fauci had a gut feeling it was closer to 90%. Now it’s unattainable lol.

Apparently, they think it’s how you define herd immunity. Well, the way it’s been defined for the past 100 years, herd immunity occurs [without getting into the R business] when the virus runs so low on susceptible hosts it can’t create an epidemic situation.

Classically defined herd immunity is absolutely attainable. That’s the situation where the CCP virus remains endemic in the population but ceases to be a public policy matter. IOW, no more closed schools, mask mandates and etc, but the virus will still infect some people and even cause some deaths.

Kind of like the flu does every year. I guess what they mean is we’ve given up on eradicating it. But that was never a realistic goal to begin with. If the vaccines are really all that [apparently they are working] we only need to get the vulnerable population vaccinated and this country can go about it’s business.

I’m inclined to think ‘certain parties’ don’t want that to happen.

As long as clan members like Legion fight and argue against the vaccine, you can be sure Corona will stay and evolve. Are rightys going to omit the Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and polio shots too? They are a damn left-wing plot.

If China virus herd immunity is 'not attainable,' does it matter?

The emphasis on a goal that may be impossible to reach reduces the incentive to get injected with mysterious substances.
