Kim Jong-un reportedly sending North Korean ‘slaves’ to Russia

i think it could be phased ( multi -staged in Japan and Hawaii to). If the Chinese launch, it's all over.
ABM systems are the key (I'm not an expert on them) to dealing with irrational state actors like lil' Kim

Implementing ABM's would encourage China and Russia to do the same. They're not going to sit back while we nullify their strike capability saying "oh, this is meant for the North Koreans only".

There's likely no military solution I can think of that won't involve millions, maybe billions of deaths.

But if we don't act, North Korea may, and soon.

Tell China if they don't act, we will grant Japan a nuke missile site they can lease from us.

There's plenty of diplomatic hardballs that haven't been thrown. Or tell China we'll let them have South China Sea if they get rid of Bowl Cut.

Knowledge of history and global affairs.

He's their buffer .. no doubt the Chinese are helping him with technology.

Not too difficult to figure that out.

OK, but how does that make us responsible for opening the Pandora's Box "unnecessarily"? Help me understand your reasoning, please.

Not sure our allies would be cool with that.

We should offer the Chinese the right to implement their own puppet government in NK.

What they want is Tibet.

Should we kiss their ass and let them have it without interference in exchange for helping us do something about NK that we can't do ourselves?

What if we threw Trump in with the deal?

I doubt the other nations in Asia would agree.

Maybe, but getting consensus would like herding cats, I think. We don't have time.

We can absolutely neuter Bowl Cut with conventional weapons---but the unintended consequences are dicey.

Pick your poison.

Uh, I somehow doubt that. The Chinese are unlikely to allow it, for one thing. Mutual-aid agreements.

That's a Cold War escalation we can all live with for a change.. ABM's are not offensive weapons

you mean recognition?
I doubt they care about recognition anymore. Tibet has been thoroughly ethically cleansed by Hanization

Dalai Lama’s travel plans ignite reincarnation row

In Tibet’s unique strain of Buddhism the succession of senior lamas, who also wield temporal power, is determined by reincarnation. The 81-year-old Dalai Lama, who has gained global celebrity during a life in exile, is the 14th of his lineage. He has said he will not be reincarnated in territory controlled by China, while the officially atheist Communist government in Beijing has declared that he will.

His planned trip in early April to Tawang, a Tibetan community in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh in the eastern Himalayas, has raised alarm in Beijing. It follows his visit in November to Mongolia, which practises a similar form of Buddhism.

In 1995 Beijing selected the 11th Panchen Lama, the second-most important figure in Tibetan Buddhism, after a failed attempt by senior Tibetans within China to anoint a mutually agreed choice. The six-year-old boy who was the Dalai Lama’s selection disappeared and has never been heard from again.
That experience hardened the Dalai Lama’s desire to keep his succession out of Chinese hands.

China last year created an online database of government-certified reincarnations to solidify its “undeniable endorsement right over the reincarnation system” before the Dalai Lama’s death. The move to regulate reincarnations came after a Han Chinese actor declared himself a “living Buddha” and began collecting donations from Chinese attracted to Tibetan spirituality.

How are "we" responsible for opening the Pandora's Box "unnecessarily"?

Can you expand on that, please?

Sure .. we are the only nation on the planet to use nuclear weapons .. and we did it twice .. because we were testing .. and we didn't have to use them either time that we did.

Japan is an island and they were running out of everything .. and the Soviets were closing in.
