Comparing Fox News and the Washington Post isn't really apples to apples. Fox News, like CNN & MSNBC, exist to get the best ratings possible by feeding red meat to their base.
Historically The Washington Post and New York Times, while yes wanting to get the most revenue possible, have had more liberal Op-Ed pages but the news they delivered was looked upon by Americans as mostly being straight forward and generally speaking trustworthy. They were our top two papers of record so to speak. (Maybe the WSJ is in there somewhere the NYT and WaPo seemed to be the top 2.)
That went out the window during the Trump years. There's no denying it was good for their business. The NYT especially had an exceptional increase in readers I believe. But they basically positioned themselves as the leaders of the resistance. And when we discuss why there is a lack of trust in our media this is the leading example.
So they have a lot of work to do to regain the trust of people beyond one article here.
"The Post did not find evidence that Joe Biden personally benefited from or knew details about the transactions with CEFC, which took place after he had left the vice presidency and before he announced his intentions to run for the White House in 2020."
WAPO LOL
Hello cawacko,
That's ridiculous. They were printing the truth. The reason it was regularly critical of Trump is because he has done so much wrong!
It would not be possible to print the pertinent news without including the latest stories of Trump's misdeeds - because they were constant.
And they still are. So numerous are they that more are uncovered on a regular basis. Such as this 7 hour gap. (If I might descend into a bit of whataboutism...)
And then Trump stupidly claims he doesn't even know what a burner phone is. So glad to hear John Bolton speak up right away to let everyone know that was BS, that he and Trump had talked about them previously. And it has come to the attention of the Select Committee that phone calls were made during the 7 hour gap, which were not logged as required. That is a violation of the law, right there.
You're missing the point. The point is not that the NY Times shouldn't publish things critical of Trump.
Rather the NY Times went from strictly a reporter of the news to a move activist/adversarial role with Trump. And as stated once you take that role you lose even the veneer of being a fair arbiter for people to turn too.
And now we have a large segment of the population that understandably trusts little the mainstream media puts out.
Long gone are the days of Walter Cronkite or even the CNN "Most Trusted Name in News" of my youth.
You have to step back and see the big picture. It's far bigger than Trump.
I get shady vibes from Hunter and won’t be surprised if he’s indicted, but I’ve never thought of Joe as shady or corrupt.Indeed.
Hunter and his father are both corrupt.
Laughing, the one thing fools can do.

WaPo used to be well respected but they lost their minds in the Trump years.

Real journalism happens at The Washington Post. Posting this not because I like it. Not in a million years would FOX do an investigation and expose of Trump junior.
From the article:
"While many aspects of Hunter Biden’s financial arrangement with CEFC China Energy have been previously reported and were included in a Republican-led Senate report from 2020, a Washington Post review confirmed many of the key details and found additional documents showing Biden family interactions with Chinese executives.
Over the course of 14 months, the Chinese energy conglomerate and its executives paid $4.8 million to entities controlled by Hunter Biden and his uncle, according to government records, court documents and newly disclosed bank statements, as well as emails contained on a copy of a laptop hard drive that purportedly once belonged to Hunter Biden.
The Post did not find evidence that Joe Biden personally benefited from or knew details about the transactions with CEFC, which took place after he had left the vice presidency and before he announced his intentions to run for the White House in 2020.
But the new documents — which include a signed copy of a $1 million legal retainer, emails related to the wire transfers, and $3.8 million in consulting fees that are confirmed in new bank records and agreements signed by Hunter Biden — illustrate the ways in which his family profited from relationships built over Joe Biden’s decades in public service."

Can you provide an example of false reporting, never mind the columns and editorials. Obviously FOX isn't "apples to apples". It only pretends to practice journalism.
Not false reporting, biased reporting.
Biased reporting is false reporting. It's not a failure of journalism if accurate reporting paints a critical picture of its subject. Quite the opposite, unless you can cite newsworthy stories harmful to Biden that The Times ignored.
