Justice Dept. Submits Redacted Affidavit Used in Trump Search Warrant

There are four possible outcomes here when the public sees the affidavit:

1. It's so heavily redacted that it fuels conspiracy theories on both sides. That's a lose for the DoJ.

2. It clearly shows the FBI and DoJ were justified in their wanting a warrant. That's a win for the DoJ.

3. It clearly shows the FBI and DoJ screwed the pooch and the warrant was unjustified. That's a lose for the DoJ.

4. It is so ambiguous and vague that both sides claim respectively outcomes 2 and 3 meaning we're right back to square 1. The FBI and DoJ break even or lose.

So, the odds are against the DoJ coming out of this favorably. They may, but they more likely will lose credibility. That's why they wanted to keep it sealed, because their people came to the same conclusions I've given here.

The funny part is the idiot leftists still won't understand why people don't trust those bastards or them.

Right wing morons will blather about conspiracies. The majority of the nation will thank god the DOJ is going after Trump for stealing US secrets.

Highly unlikely. It is more likely that the DoJ will come out of this with damaged credibility. It won't particularly help or hurt Trump politically, but it will likely result in more people distrusting government more than they already do.

Only you America hating fascists are out to destroy our nation.

Reinhart is expected to review the department's proposed redactions and decide whether to release the affidavit - a sworn statement outlining the evidence that gave it probable cause to seek a search warrant - and in what form. Even if it is unsealed, Reinhart has said the redactions could be so extensive they would "render the document devoid of content."

I knew they would hide everything that was incriminating to the DOJ.

Indeed. Except it has driven Trump's political contribution up by 3 times.

The chances that enough of it will be unblacked out to understand it about zero. We are not allowed to know.

I wonder why Trump didn't ask the Court to release it?

Trump just let the news media pay the lawyers. But he has publicly stated he wanted it released.

He didnt ask the court did he? He "called for release" only after the NYT asked the Court to do it. Clearly Trump did not want it released, but he knew he had to get ahead of it.
