Judge sentences Derek Chauvin for George Floyd murder

Hmm. Why so light?

In order to make it that long, for the crime he was convicted of, there were exigent circumstances considered. Years were added because the crime happened in front of children and while in a position of trust, which he breached.

The idiot didn't care that he was on video. He chose to murder his victim.

The fact that so many cops testified against him spoke volumes. This was a first.

The entire police organization turned on him. "Well, we're not really supposed to just murder people in broad daylight for no reason. So we can't really defend his actions." A made-up quote, of course, but representative of the way normal people felt about what Chauvin did. He's a fucking monster.

Trump only cares about himself. I just can't believe he suckered 73 million voters to vote for him. Seriously these people who voted for him know nothing about him. And they refuse to know the facts. A 3 time Adulterer, a daughter out of wedlock, 3 baby momma's and cheated on the 3rd wife with a mistress for 10 months and with a porn star named Stormy. He's white trash....only a fool would vote a man like that to run a Nation.

White trash is generally how I classify Trump voters. He is much worse than they are.

He thought his white privilege would protect him. This serves notice. Murder in custody no more.

I wish it was as clear as that. It's not. Some cops have decided to double down on their supposed authority. I've seen it myself. Until the rotten parts are removed from the core, then bitch-ass cops who got a shirt and a gun due to their insecurities in life are going to continue to abuse their power and continue to destroy the trust, if ever there was any, between themselves and the people they swore to serve and protect.

He won't get out on appeal. He won't get out early, as his Fed conviction will assure that. You're a cop. You should know the reason that all cuffed individuals are immediately rolled over off of their stomachs...as the rookies kept suggesting to Chauvin.

Stop ignoring the facts of the case. It doesn't show you in a good light. Chauvin murdered Floyd. Period.

Nomad is a cop? Or he was? Jesus fucking christ. What a failure in recruitment.

My ilk?

I'm a registered Democrat who voted for both Clintons, Obama and Biden. And you're cheering that our days are numbered?

.
I know. This is just one topic that we disagree about. No biggie. I've provided you with enough information to realize your folly. If you insist on being uninformed, there's nothing I can do about that.

Your 'ilk' is the cop defenders who believe that no cop can ever be prosecuted. Your days are numbered.

Fuck off, thread Nazi.

What you're sucking up is the paid testimony of a paid witness who is saying what he was paid to say.

Fool.
LMFAO.

You've quoted the fool who the defense paid to make it look like Floyd died from drugs.

That didn't work then, and it certainly won't work in this thread.

When you watch the trial, get back to us.

Except for a few racist assholes, all the police, especially the leadership, know Chauvin murdered a man using the authority of his badge. Chauvin deserves prison for murdering an American citizen.
Imagine the discussion if there were no video?

Their backs were against the wall. Not only did they have the phone video, but the cop cams were even more damning. You could hear Chauvin's snide comments to his partners when they repeatedly made suggestions that would have saved Floyd's life.

He seems to deny it. Someone close to him is a cop. No sane person could make the case that he's trying to make, unless they're a trumpkin.

He isn't.

A lot of COs see themselves as law enforcement so are more likely to protect him than they might otherwise be. A lot will depend on his own attitude, too. If he's belligerant and cocky and shows his racist side, they might happen to be looking elsewhere when he's around the other inmates.
He's going to be a polite little bitch, which is what he would have been on the outside if he weren't hiding behind a badge.

Agree. They'll just be more careful in front of a video device. Watch for governors to make it illegal to photograph/record police in the future.

You haven't told me exactly what Chauvin did that directly caused Floyd's death.

Remember.... if Floyd was able to repeatedly yell that he couldn't breathe, that means he was breathing.

I recall at one point, the video showed Floyd's chest partially raised off of the pavement because of the way he was lying and the prosecution witness had to admit that would have enabled him to breathe.

Also, both carotid arteries were never simultaneously compressed, meaning oxygenated blood would have been able to get to his "brain". It was even shown also, that Chauvin's knee was not directly on the neck, but on or partially on the side of his head.

So tell me.... what did Chauvin do that directly caused Floyd's death?

You won't because you can't.

The only thing that has ever mattered to "your ilk" is that Chauvin was a white cop and Floyd was black.

And that is why Chauvin is in prison and "your ilk" are rubbing your hands together with glee.

Huh. Always thought that "But think of the children!" as just an old saying. Guess not.
