Judge sentences Derek Chauvin for George Floyd murder

Juries usually get it right as do Judges. Not everyone agrees but then not everyone agrees with the basis of our legal system: Blackstone's Ratio.

Yep. They get some of them right.

But when they don't, it's truly a fucking disaster.

Also, I don't have to tell you who CAN'T easily ditch jury duty.

I've only experienced it when I had nothing better to do.

If you tell me that your own experience is different, Oom, I wouldn't believe you.

Oooh. That's gonna leave a mark. I have mixed feelings on the rookies Chauvin was training .
The rookies are on video numerous times trying to get their senior officer to employ proper protocol. I think they get off. Perhaps the Asian prick gets convicted, as he was complicit in the murder and never attempted to dissuade Chauvin from murdering Floyd.

Hmm. Why so light?

Fifteen to twenty years is what most countries give for PREMEDITATED MURDER, Owl.

That's not light.

That's a horror. Remember what prison is like. You don't live in a vacuum. You've heard things.

I'd rather be humanely euthanized than serve more than, say, two years.
I went two years to a private prep school that I hated until giving my parents the ultimatum to let me go to public school or I'd drop out altogether.
Two years is as much of anything horrific that I would tolerate.

Twenty years isn't light.

It was shown by the defense that Floyd was still breathing while Chauvin had him pinned.

His other, opposite side carotid artery was totally unobstructed.

Your logic is specious.

Saying that Chauvin caused Floyd's death because he had Floyd subdued when he died is like saying that a chair caused someone's death because they were sitting in it when they died.

Because two things happened at the same time does not mean that one caused the other.
Your biased claims have no merit. The expert witness illustrated for the jury the exact moment that Chauvin killed Floyd, and kept kneeling on him for several minutes. Even the younger officers tried to get Chauvin to follow proper protocol, but he refused.

Depraved indifference.

Asshole: You're the one playing Doctor, Lawyer, Judge, Jury and Police Officer.

I simply watched the trial including all the testimony from Chauvin's superiors and the video. The conviction fits the evidence. Why you disagree is just proof you have a bias to avoid the facts.
He's clearly a cop. He has never found fault with any action any cop has taken in discussion on this board. He's lying if he says he watched the trial. His lies are in direct contrast to the mountains of evidence.

WOW! WHAT A DOUCHE!

Probably more. The Feds are just getting started with him and his partners.

One of the worst things about coming to JPP, is that I always manage to get the likes of you stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

And even after I mange to get you scraped off, the stink lingers.

Sad that you're so myopic that it never occurred to you that even his superiors could be part of the railroad job.

Orders from on high.

Chauvin was a sacrifice. They all know damned good and well that it could have been any other cop on the force who happened to take that call. They're all just looking out for themselves and covering their own asses.

This is all about keeping the black community mollified.

Anyone who cannot see that is blind.

Anyone who refuses to see it is dishonest.
It wasn't 'his call'. He showed up after the fact, and murdered Floyd. The evidence is clear.

Depraved indifference.

An expert witness also illustrated for the jury that Floyd was breathing most of the time he was on the ground, that Chauvin's knee was not blocking the carotid artery and that the other carotid artery was still totally unobstructed.

So... Floyd is breathing in spite of his claims that he can't (a little trick they probably all pull ever since that fat fuck in NYC used it) his carotid arteries are not obstructed so the blood is flowing to the drug scrambled mass of whatever it was inside his skull... so exactly which action of Chauvin cause St George to die?

It was always the knee on the neck. The knee on the back.

But Floyd was breathing and the blood was flowing to his "brain".

Again.... exactly which action of Chauvin cause St George to die?

You're clearly a drug using/dealing criminal thug then. Because you have never found fault with any action any thug has taken in discussion on this or any other board we've both been on. You're lying if you say you watched the trial. Your lies are in direct contrast to the mountains of evidence.

You're splitting hairs now.

Semantics.

They were all working the same district.

Any cop who responds to a call, whether first on the scene or not, can be said to have "taken the call".

I hope he gets out on appeal, which is already underway.

He won't get out on appeal. He won't get out early, as his Fed conviction will assure that. You're a cop. You should know the reason that all cuffed individuals are immediately rolled over off of their stomachs...as the rookies kept suggesting to Chauvin.

Stop ignoring the facts of the case. It doesn't show you in a good light. Chauvin murdered Floyd. Period.

He thought his white privilege would protect him. This serves notice. Murder in custody no more.
It will continue to happen for quite a long time. Cops will just be sure that there is no video. Look at the two moron cops who almost murdered the military lieutenant in Virginia.

So you cannot answer the question as to what exact action(s) by Chauvin caused Floyd to die.

I figured as much.

The rest of what you said is mere hope-fueled speculation.

Remember two things...

Floyd was breathing even when he said he couldn't.

His carotid arteries were not blocked.

Your hatred of cops and love of criminals doesn't show you in a good light.

Bad week at work? Got turned down for a job?

Chauvin killed a man with reckless disregard if not intent. Chauvin didn’t just have a bad day. He’d been building up to this for years and, like a perfect storm, it was Floyd’s day that Chauvin would finally go too far.

Now Chauvin has to pay for his actions. It’s our law.

I don’t know. He clearly wants to make it purely about race, not the law or the murder of an American citizen by an officer sworn to protect citizens.

Maybe Nomad isn’t a cop, just the Sergeant of Arms for his Kool Kids Klub chapter?

Agreed about douche.

Disagreed about “brain fart”. A brain fart is drawing a 9mm instead of a Taser. Almost 10 minutes of pressing the life out of a human being is not a “brain fart”. It’s a deliberate act.
