Can you take a step back and see the big picture, which is what I was talking about and you avoided? My response was about more than the past two weeks. And thanks again for showing there's almost a gene some of you possess that will not allow you to look at your own party with even the slightest critical eye. It would be beyond blasphemy. One may not believe there's a God in the sky but the reverence for the (Democratic) party itself replaces the worship of a God.

I guess this isn't even a rhetorical question, did you actually read the thread? Do you see my previous posts? Did you read the posts I responded to? You're free to have a conversation with yourself in your own head (I know I've certainly done it more than I care to admit) but it's like you're responding to something else and didn't read what's been posted here.

It is a sad testament to the state of things but i think it shows the threat of violence that Maga republican's have come to rely upon to try and force their way is now becoming such a norm that members are saying 'fuck it' as it is no longer having the impact.

Mitt Romney detailed how that early emerging threat cowed most of the Senate republicans to not vote to impeach Trump but i am not so sure that threat carries the same weight anymore. So many have been threatened it is wearing off. Which is some cold comfort if true.

The pendulum swings both ways. If you’re old enough, like me, you’ll remember the Dems getting slaughtered when McGovern ran. Obama’s Dem Congress taking a beating. Ebbs and flows.

However, I don’t ever recall in either party when the extreme became the norm. Did the Dems ever have a cult-like leader that they lived in fear of? And I don’t mean just politically. There are those who fear for their safety and the safety of their families if they reject Trump.
