James Mattis' warning to America

If Obama's execution was superior, how did ISIL suddenly take over most of Iraq?

He made his point, and perhaps you didn't see it!

Let me help!

Sure Obama brought the troops home from Iraq, I'll give you that!

It backfired! But it turned out to be a valuable lesson our Military learned by Obama's good intentions gone bad.

Our military learned, you can't just leave a void, in the middle east, where the hatred and terrorism is so immense, that terrorism and hatred will quickly and happily fill the void!

The only ones who didn't learn that valuable lesson was obviously Donald Trump and his Yip Yaps!

That usually leaves them speechless then lamely trying to change the subject.

Guano said it was an orderly withdrawal, you do have to.laugh. Orderly in the sense that it ended up a total bloody nightmare. Of course, the typical response is to blame Bush even though he left office years before the withdrawal. If Obama hadn't been so weak then he'd have told Maliki to get stuffed. But he was far more concerned about his base than the events on the ground.

the EZ thing to do is "maintain a presence" -but it accomplishes nothing
The mission was to kill ISIS, and it's all but done.

Let the Russians sort it out. not our problem

The Russians are not in Afghanistan though and he's just pulled half the military out from there.

1) We already learned that lesson in Afghanistan after the Cold War.
2) It's not really the same situation. As with Iraq after the Gulf War, there will still be a strongman in power.
3) Obama did not have good intentions. He had political ambitions, which he thought would be secured.

Let's review for you idiots:

In 2008 George W. Bush signed the U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement. It included a deadline of 31 December 2011, before which "all the United States Forces shall withdraw from all Iraqi territory". The last U.S. troops left Iraq on 18 December 2011, in accordance with this agreement.

At the time, Obama opponents praised the effort because it was Bush's deadline. Bush's withdrawal plan. Only when things went to hell with ISIS did it become Obama's plan.

Mindless morons. :rofl2:

The Russian are certainly in Afghanistan with soft power, and well they should be.

17 years though...I mean at SOME point you have to end perpetual war even if the fun comes to an end

I don't mind staying as an anti-terrorism exercise, but if you take out the matrix of nationbuilding
the support drops to the floor; and I do not want to stay there on a lie .

We've had troops in South Korea for considerably longer.
