This looks so good. Never used or prepared fresh ginger, though. Maybe I'll try that spoon trick I saw on TV.

We love Mongolian beef!

Beef is so dear now but pork is still reasonable. I made Mongolian pork the other night for supper, using thinly sliced boneless pork chops. It turned out great! Along with the pork, which I velveted before stir frying, I had shredded carrot, onions, snow peas, and shrooms. Served with steamed jasmine rice. Last night we had mesquite roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. Haven't decided on tonight yet. It's either taco-and-burrito night, or pizza baked spaghetti. Will see what the master prefers. :)

Sounds good, but I haven't had steak sauce in the house for a long time. A well-seasoned and cooked steak doesn't need it.

Very true! I only use it in recipes. I'm sure skipping the steak sauce wouldn't change it much. I swap the mustard powder in this recipe for prepared spicy brown mustard. IMO celery is just weird in sloppy joes, and Mr. Owl hates it, so that gets left out. It's a good recipe that you can customize to your own preferences.

@ThatOwlWoman I found something your hubby might like. You said he likes chipotle. It doesn't sound that spicy, but I don't know your exact tolerances for heat.

I can't count the hours I stood at the stove making risotto or arroz rojo. Time forced me to try basmati and I couldn't believe what I was missing out on. All you have to do is put it in your rice cooker and walk away.

Make sure to get high-quality or aged basmati rice and follow the directions. Experiment with toasting and adding ginger or hot peppers to your rice cooker. You'll find it to be a fast, easy and tasty rice at an affordable price.

You did what to the pork?
