It's possible that only a 3rd party can save the republic

I'm a Yang guy. For some reason, smart, practical & common sense candidates rarely break through in the primaries, but he was one of the best candidates in 2020, imo.

He made a great point yesterday. He said to imagine a major sports league where there are only 2 teams. In sports, things get as crazy passionate as they get in politics, and you start to hate the other side and completely demonize them as time goes on. And that is exactly what has happened in politics. They showed a poll while he was talking that had over 80% of both Dems and Republicans saying that they think the other side will destroy the country. Republicans now see Democrats as the enemy, and as a threat - and Dems feel the same about Republicans.

That isn't sustainable.

And we have both parties now catering to their fringe elements. Leaving the sane majority who reside more in the middle left out.

I will strongly support the centrist party that Yang and his group are trying to get off the ground for 2024. We need to get away from the 2-party system.

I'd be up for that, as long as there is also a Trump Party to take votes away from the (R) wingnuts. Otherwise you end up with the rational voters, who are mostly (D) these days, splitting their votes and allowing #TRE45ON back on the throne. We tried that, it didn't work. Let's not go there again.

The (D)s would be well-advised to shake Biden's hand, give him a nice watch, and look for younger candidates.

The LAST thing that we need is a party in the fucking middle.

We desperately need a viable party to the left of the Democrats, not to mention a merciless, Stalinesque purge of the Republicans.

I fucking hate people who seek the middle because they don't have the courage to pick a side.

It takes a complete absence of balls to be comfortable straddling a fence.

Exactly!

Someone balls would be most at risk if they straddle a fence but you're apparently a dunce.

Democrats are cancer that needs to be removed.

no thanks illuminati.

is it fascist libertarians you're referencing?

The alt right refuses to take personal responsibility. They commit a crime, but claim that there was someone whispering in someone else's ear that made them do it. They commit a terrorist act, but claim that there was someone else to blame, because we had different political views than them.
sort of like how the 'left' sat back and encouraged BLM and antifa, yet denied that they were ever a 'group', or that they supported them, or when really pressed, accuse those on the right of supporting racism or fascism while still denying their domestic terrorism..........

Now they cannot even take responsibility for voting for trump.
there are many on here who proudly claim that they voted for trump. the problem lies with you moronic lefties accusing EVERYONE that they voted for trump, despite obvious history of some of us supporting the libertarian candidate.........we call that your denial of reality

I understand your frustration, BE, BUT...

...never throw out the baby with the bathwater!

A "third-party" formed by Yang and people who are impressed with him...will do nothing more than syphon votes away from the Democratic Party candidate. I am sure there will be many Republicans who will happily send donations to such a third party...and do their best to encourage people to vote for it.

Bad Idea.
