It's about teaching the children... to be good little pinhead protesters!

Oh please Damo. Dixie is being a blythering hypocrit again. He's all for teaching his political views and values to his kids but appaled when others do the same. The only thing those kids know is that they are supporting their parents and their aint a damned thing wrong with that.

I am not being the least bit hypocritical! I don't care if they were attending a Tea Party Rally... Teachers shouldn't be teaching Political Activism 101 to my kids! When you bring the kids in to do your protesting, that's when you Libtards lose me! Go out there and carry signs and yell and scream all you like! Chant to your heart's content, and I will back your right to do so until the day I die... but leave our kids out of it!

Our kids?? What gives you any indication that any of the kids were not brought by there parents?

I don't care if they were brought there by Mother Theresa and Gandhi.. that was not appropriate to have the children chanting like little political activists! What part of that is escaping your incompetent brain? It doesn't matter if they were advocating school bus safety and fuzzy bunnies... it was inappropriate! You wouldn't want some teacher to take your kids to a Pro-Life rally and chant... DOWN WITH THE BABY KILLERS! Would ya??? I didn't think so! Even IF the teacher didn't actually ride in the same vehicle with them, and parents came too... that wouldn't make it OKAY, would it???

You're an idiot. You were wrong w/ your 1st post, and now you're trying to save face by saying that parents shouldn't bring their own kids to a protest.

I thought you were into freedom? Guess only when it's convenient...

No Onzies, I was RIGHT with my first post, and I am still RIGHT! YOU are the idiot!

Parents can do whatever the fuck they want to do with their kids, as long as it's legal! My problem is when the SCHOOL TEACHERS take their kids on a FIELD TRIP to the Capitol, where they are cajoled into PROTESTING something the TEACHER is against! I think that is highly inappropriate, and I don't want it happening in MY public school, where MY kids go to be edumacated!

BTW - news reports that I am hearing say they brought kids from their class to whom they provided chants.

That isn't what happened, according to what I heard on CNN. I'll see if I can find a link. They brought kids from the classrooms. If they did this with my kid I'd be requesting a teacherectomy.

Yes, they would have a loud voice- that would be likely drowned out by a very liberal media. Again, we have no clear knowledge about who those kids are or why they were there. My main point is that I am certain that they did hear about the situation in the classroom-and that the discussion was biased.

In Oregon see what has been discovered over the issue in their support of Wisconsin teachers...to think this same bias did not happen in Wisconsin itself takes some willful denial

Oh and then there is this

Hello...links provided :D

Maybe they would or maybe not- It has been shown that a definite liberal bias DOES exist in numerous classrooms around the country. To believe that this discussion did not happen, in the classrooms of Wisconsin, is in my opinion absurd. Their ages may be a problem for you-but trust me from 5 to 17 they are a captive audience and their respective teachers are well versed in how to frame a discussion based on age.

PROVE IT

You know what, I am getting really tired of "PROVE IT" from liberals. Your dialogue follows the exact same pattern, you spew liberal propaganda and rhetoric until someone challenges you, then you switch to personal attacks, and whenever credible and accurate info is presented, you holler "PROVE IT!" ...or "LINK?" When the proof is presented, you either run away, ignore it and try to change the subject, revert to the personal attacks again, or you just start over posting liberal propaganda and rhetoric! We never get anywhere with "PROVE IT!" So, why should any of us continue to do it?

No, I think I have a better idea... Come November of 2012, we're all going to the polls to vote, and we will send the liberals home for good, after which, we can dismantle the Department of Education completely, and return to state-run schools, like it used to be. We don't need to have dialogue with you people, we don't need to "PROVE" any damn thing!

Dixie, the 'prove it' and 'link' tactic is used by the right all the time. Maybe you are the pinhead and just don't notice.

But let's delve into whether or not schoolteachers are liberal OK?

In America, EVERYONE has the opportunity to pursue whatever career THEY choose. If you right wing pea brains are so offended by schoolteachers...BECOME A FUCKING SCHOOLTEACHER. WHAT is stopping you, mediocre pay asshole?

Excuse the fuck outta me, I don't recall saying the right never asked for proof or links of the constant bombardment of insanity coming from pinheads! When you spout off some nonsense about a governor ruling that he can fire elected officials and declare martial law... sorry, I gotta ask for some proof of that.. it sounds so bizarre, I can't rationalize how it would be true, in the United States. It's so off the hinge, it's almost comical, if I didn't know you are serious! Then I find it's just a pinhead interpretation problem, and you are merely emoting from your daily dose of liberal koolaid.

There isn't enough money to pay me to be a school teacher today! I would not have my children in a public school today! Thank God they are all grown and out of school. Liberals run the public school system, regardless of the teachers, most of them are individuals who have a variety of personal viewpoints, and they understand their role is to teach children, not exploit their position to push an agenda. Problem is.... Liberals run the system... did I mention that? So, the Liberals give tenure and protect the teachers they like, who are the liberal teachers... and they push the agenda of the Liberals who run the system, and all the Liberals are happy! This environment, tends to open itself to indoctrination of the students, through a process I call... Pinhead Osmosis.

Teachers leaning left politically is bullshit? I don't know really how to respond. I mean are there teachers that are conservative? Sure. But to really argue that teachers as a whole don't have a leftward bent just seems way out of left field to me.

Isn't a major part of a teacher's job to teach children about sharing? Empathy? Concern for others?

What is the point of teaching that if one is supposed to adopt the "me, myself and I" attitude as adults? If the "Conservative", "Right" way is the good and proper way then the kid who first grabs the blue crayon should be allowed to keep it.

Why have teachers spend time with students who require extra help? What message are we sending? If one isn't as intelligent or physically gifted the world isn't going to be fair to them as adults so why instill such a crazy notion?

Shouldn't we encourage the natural instinct to be selfish? To get what one can? Aren't we doing our children a great disservice as we all know the "nice guy" gets neither the corner office nor the cute looking secretary. (I had to add that.) :)

Let me just go ahead and call bullshit on this one. I have seen an interview with the person that shot the video, Ann Althouse.

The video was shot Monday of this week. According to Althouse (who hates the protesters, by the way), Monday was not a school day. It was not a field trip. The children were not brought from classrooms.

Hello??? What portion of the population is most affected by school cuts?

Any child knows an unhappy teacher is not going to be a good teacher. It's not difficult to explain to children that budget cuts mean less lab and gym equipment to fewer after-school/extracurricular activities.

The kids are against it! It directly affects the kids. What kid wouldn't be against less equipment for science class or gym equipment or text books or computers or field trips or....?

It's been kind of awhile. You still lookin' for that link?

Yeah - why worry about facts & truth? Just make shit up!

Good call....

But of course you find it perfectly acceptable that tea party members bring their kids to many of the rallies they attended.

Typical Tightie Rightie Double standard...

You don't know who brought those kids.

You don't know why those kids are there.

here we have another Tightie Rightie "do as I say and not as I do" moment.

What a hoot. I guess it was okay for these kids to go to the Rhode Island state capital and hold up their signs. It's only bad when liberals do it.
