it's a welfare package

This is the post and it certainly wasnt aimed at bac (if you have a brain cell left its obvious).

The Moodies study is backed by other studies in its acessments.

Like I said NO more stupid.

The New Deal woirked folks and so will this.

Desh, they aren't even sure this will work .. and this isn't the New Deal by any stretch of the imagination.

If you listen to ONE economist, just one .. listen to Paul Krugman. There is a very good reason why he won the Nobel Prize for Economics.

Krugman supported Obambi and doesn't like Rush Limbaugh, but he remains honest about the weakness of this bill.

There is a very good reason why Krugman is not part of Obambi's team.

Now the fact that these studies by moodys are backed by the results of others studies should end all speculation that they are merely politically driven.

If moodys would draw up a study for political purposes why would they scew the results to say this anyway?

I do not disagree that those programs have the best short term result. The problem desh is do they have a lasting result. The other thing you are not factoring in is that they address tax cuts in terms of keeping the cuts that already are in place. That means it is not NEW.

Bottom line, I do agree that tax cuts should not be the primary focus here. It should be spending that has good short term benefits (meaning it gets people working in the shortest time frame possible) as well as provides long term benefits (ie... the jobs go to building out our infrastructure, alt energy projects etc...)

Food stamps have as your studies show, good bang for the buck in the short term... but they are not lasting. This is not to say they aren't necessary, just that the bulk of this spending should be done on projects that have both short and long term effects on the economy.

Moodys may be correct on this but they do not deserve to be listened to because of their major contribution to this mess.
Several at moodys deserve prision time for fraud.

Using Moodys as support for the economy is like using the Project for a New American Century as support for foreign policy.

Yes Back its not big enough.

Its a start.

You have to get moving on making more shovel ready investiments.

They will come and it will work.

You have to bring the people along with you or it wont work either.

This is also a crisis of citizen belief in government.

Well, that settles that. I decree it proven beyond doubt . . .

It's no more settled than the notion that the New Deal DID end the Depression.

Experts and intelligent people disagree on both the root causes and what ultimately ended the Depression.
