No, I said a canidate for federal office should not express this opinion because it is illrelevant and because it has a chilling effect on religous freedom.
If you could read, you would know that.

Actually, local government can zone out the mosque, Jarod. In fact, thanks to Kelo, local government could steal the whole damned center and sell it to private interests.
Sure they can, so long as it is about Arizona or a sheriff in Arizona.
They are doing a bit more than simply a place of worship, and could zone it out because of that.False, they could zone out a wal-mart, but not a religous group simply due to there reliegin.

What I don't understand is why someone like a redneck Senator from Texas feels he should even have an opinion about what is happening in New York City. It's none of his fucking busines. The bigot should but out.

There is no Walmart anywhere within the five Boroughs. You can zone just about anything out, as long as you are not doing it simply because the backing is of a religous nature.
You cant allow wal-mart to open a reail store but not allow Islam to open a retail store.
Yea, you try telling that to the people who live and work in Manhattan. I'm not brave enough. What business is it of yours/ours of those of us who don't even live in that community to tell them what houses of worship they can build when and where?Well it wasn't an attack on NYC, it was an attack on America. At least that is the title of this piece archived at Smithsonian Museum 9/11 Project:

I've been to NY and Manahatten and I know how pissed off they get at outsiders telling them what they should do, particularly southern rednecks.
My respect is for the people and NY and Manhattan who suffered this great tragedy. This is a matter for them to decide and it's apparent that they value religious tolerance far more then southern conservatives do.
Oh don't be obtuse. You know what he meant. BTW, not to change the subject but I think Columbus, OH is the only major metro area that does have a Wallmart....I dunno if I like what that says about my city! LOLThere is no Walmart anywhere within the five Boroughs.

Uh right...check one vote for no from the lunatic fringe. Next!I think they''re just brainwashed morons, taught that hastening their own demise is enlightenment.
You certainly do have that right but if you happen to be in Manhattan I'd suggest you be real carefull about expressing that opinion because you will be in the extreme minority there and you will piss most people off to the quick. I'd suggest some respectfull silence on that subject if I was you, but hey, it's your nose.We have every right to express our opinion, however forcefully we might do so, peacefully. Don't worry though, as soon as it is a certainty, lots of people will be gleefully telling the world that while those buildings once stood, for US economic power, now the strong rule. They brought down one symbol, now a new one rises.
They've zoned out the Walmarts, they can zone out this.

Yup, sure can. But why should they do that for you? You don't live there. It's not your town and not your community and apparently the people of Manhattan value religious tolerance far more then you do. So why don't you just butt ouf of something that's not really any of your damned business anyways. They've zoned out the Walmarts, they can zone out this.
Yes, just like you crushed Damo in your debate. I'm shaking in my boots that you'll do the same to me.Except i always end up destroying your arguments.
