You can zone just about anything out, as long as you are not doing it simply because the backing is of a religous nature.

You cant allow wal-mart to open a reail store but not allow Islam to open a retail store.

Yea, you try telling that to the people who live and work in Manhattan. I'm not brave enough. What business is it of yours/ours of those of us who don't even live in that community to tell them what houses of worship they can build when and where?

I've been to NY and Manahatten and I know how pissed off they get at outsiders telling them what they should do in regards to 9/11, particularly southern rednecks.

My respect is for the people and NY and Manhattan who suffered this great tragedy. This is a matter for them to decide and it's apparent that they value religious tolerance far more then southern conservatives do.

We have every right to express our opinion, however forcefully we might do so, peacefully. Don't worry though, as soon as it is a certainty, lots of people will be gleefully telling the world that while those buildings once stood, for US economic power, now the strong rule. They brought down one symbol, now a new one rises.

You certainly do have that right but if you happen to be in Manhattan I'd suggest you be real carefull about expressing that opinion because you will be in the extreme minority there and you will piss most people off to the quick. I'd suggest some respectfull silence on that subject if I was you, but hey, it's your nose.

It's not your town and not your community and apparently the people of Manhattan value religious tolerance far more then you do.
