It is not approperate for someone standing for an office with the federal government to express an opinion on this issue, in my opinion. Other than that the First Amendment makes it clear the govt. should not prevent it.

The first Amendment must be respected.

One can have Rubio's opinion and Obama's opinion and remain completly consistant!

people who "standing for an office with the federal government" can't express opinions?

and then you say the 1st must be respected....you know that the legislature has absolute immunity when they speak on the floor....regardless of that....why is NOT appropriate? YOU are the one against free speech here....do you even realize what you are saying?

I did not say that they cant express an opinion. You are a little drama queen, pretneding somone said something they did not so you can express false outrage.
 
Actually, local government can zone out the mosque, Jarod. In fact, thanks to Kelo, local government could steal the whole damned center and sell it to private interests.

They cant legally zone out a mosque if they do it simply because its Muslams.

Sure they can. New London claimed it was a matter of renewal to swipe low income housing and sell it off to businesses. Heck, back when Seattle created the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair, the city government cited urban renewal as a long-term benefit of the Center, but this never occurred, because they gated the Center off from the poor neighborhoods. Apparently, they didn't consider it ethical to just seize the outlying neighborhoods and develop them, but thanks to Kelo, they could do that were the project to be replayed. All they have to do is say the Muslim Center is driving down the value of the neighborhood, and then auction it off to the corporate world...

When a nation interferes in or occupies another nation or people there are consequences. This may not be as simple as this youtube, but it is a part of problem. Religion, all religions, can be tools for good or bad, religion alone did not cause 911. Why is there no outrage of the fact most were from Saudi Arabia, or Saudi support for fundamentalism, the bad side of religion they support with dollars.
