Israeli archaeologist ; No evidence to support Israelites. Old Testament is a myth.

The importance to Americans of clarifying that the Old Testament is a work of fiction is that the beliefs of Evangelists and Christian Zionists are based on hogwash. These groups practically run America and are responsible for supporting Israeli fascism- to their own ends, obviously- which has been responsible for the deaths or displacement of millions of people- and still threatens more war for the US in the ' cause ' of Israel's security.
All those American service personnel- and other nationalities too- that have died or been disabled in Israeli-led Middle East conflicts have died and suffered for lies. Jewish claims in the bible are baseless, unsupported by any evidence.
We should all stop listening to false preachers who tell us that it is true. They have themselves been deceived.

When the bugles blow again- detain the bugler.

Have you explained to the muslims that their entire history is bullshit yet?

Didn't think so.

The a primary rule of guerilla warfare, as stated in those links I shared with you in the past, is to have the support of the population. A terrorist attacks the population. This is the difference STY couldn't figure out or refused to acknowledge. Hamas and other terrorist organizations survive because the areas in which they are based are popularly supported the local public.

75 years of terrorists constantly killing innocent Israelis is certain to have a negative influence on the Israelis.

OTOH, the Palestinians see suicide bombers, Hamas and 9/11 hijackers as heroes and they support the actions of their both passively and actively.

I've never believed in collective punishment, and I tend to believe the majority of Israeli and Palestinian civilians would rather not kill each other.

It's probably not 100% fiction...I'm sure there's material to be gained from it. As any ancient text, it shows how a people of that time thought and what they believed. It is a pity that many today still want to hold humanity to the same benighted morality that sometimes raises its head in the OT, but then there's also a lot of good stuff in there too.

There's a measure of morality which might be considered instructive- but that's more than offset by the brutality and monotheism . Free-minded folk have not been bible-bashed. Kids shouldn't have to suffer that either. There's a legal age for sex, a legal age for voting. There ought to be an age of choice as to whether to indulge in that ' mythology as reality ' trip. Most certainly, fresh young minds should not have their development arrested by overbearing bigots with a logic problem.

The books of Torah are ancient and date to the Bronze-age. The Jewish ritual purity laws and the Decalogue are hardly fictional. They form the very basis of Orthodox Jewish tradition. Whereas the stories in Genesis are undoubtedly mythical or embellished.

The rest of the Hebrew bible dates to the first and second temple periods, and do contain substantial amounts of historical information. Even your own experts in the OP acknowledge the historicity of the unified monarchy under David and Solomon, the only bone of contention is that this was a smallish tribal kingdom, not a great regional power

Dumbass. ' God ' is fiction. What possible interest , outside of psychiatry, could anybody have in any deluded sect of the unnatural. Give kids a chance and quit burdening them with your horseshit. It's plainly unhealthy. It's turned you into a smearmonger, for example- and a warmongering asshole to boot.

Educated and well read people wouldn't agree with you.

Modern scholars almost uniformly consider Muhammed to have been a real person and real religious leader, though his biography and actions are debatable.

The Ummayed and Abbasid caliphates, the caliphate of Cordoba, the Mughal empire, and the Ottoman empire were globally important in terms of trade, economics, mathmatics, astronomy, philosophy.

^^ Mocking Orthodox Jews seems right up your alley.

You should acquire some rudimentary knowledge of the Hebrew Bible, before leaping to conclusions.

Outside the five books of Torah, God doesn't directly make that many appearances in rest of TaNaKh. The Nevi'im, and the Ketuvim contain a lot of histories of the Jews, moral instruction, wisdom literature, and poetry.

As for your temper tantrum about God, you have not been given authority to dictate to Jews that God doesn't exist.

And anyway, if you are so perturbed about people believing in God, where are your threads haranguing Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs?

She has an obsessive hatred for Jews but no particular love for Muslims. Odd.

The PLO didn't want to participate in 1978. Yes, they finally relented after 15 years of getting nowhere killing innocent Israelis and constantly getting their asses handed back to them by the IDF.

Still, who broke the peace? All the Palestinians worth a shit had long since left elsewhere. Only the fanatics and nutjobs remained behind. The MAGAts of the ME.

Not at all. The children should be freed from the diktats of smearmongers such as you. Smearing those who are trying to free them simply illuminates your malignancy.

There are no pseudo-Muslims, pseudo- Hindus or pseudo Sikhs practicing murder, ethnic-cleansing, apartheid or occupation against the indigenous people of Palestine.
Again, your attempts to lump all Jews together in order to conceal Zionisms crimes is transparent.

You seem like the type who would have made fun of the kids who wore yarmulkes.

You just seem like a total asshole, smearmonger.

Since you've never posted derisive photos mocking Muslim women wearing their burkas or Buddhist monks wearing their robes, I have to assume your mockery of Orthodox Jews and their clothes has something to do with the way you feel about them being Jewish. Rather than any supposedly principled stand you have against God and religious scripture

These Jewish kids look ill. Their eyesight is generally fucked. Their elders simply want to fuck them up in their own religious image.

Check out life in Mongolia;

Zionism is a sick doctrine. Assholes like you are simply acting to feed the Big Lie in order to steal . You are having an adverse effect upon decent Jews everywhere. Your smearmongering is stale and rejected.

it will be an even bigger shock to those who know how silly it is to call anyone who claims this "a distinguished Israeli archaeologist".......more atheist biblical "scholars"......pulling wiki articles out of their ass and calling it research"......

Yeah, there is quite a bit of evidence of the Hebrew Tribes... This whole thing is just idiot racists trying to "prove" they are right, it's the modern version of "The Bell Curve". They begin with a result and pretend their "evidence" supports their preconceived conclusion.

Ze'ev Herzog

Ze’ev Herzog (Hebrew: זאב הרצוג; born 1941) is an Israeli archeologist, professor of archaeology at The Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures at Tel Aviv University specializing in social archaeology, ancient architecture and field archaeology. Ze’ev Herzog served as director of The Sonia and Marco Nadler Institute of Archaeology from 2005 to 2010, and has served as archaeological advisor to the Israel Nature and National Parks Protection Authority in the preservation and development of National Parks at Arad and Beer Sheba.

Herzog took part in the excavations of Tel Hazor and Tel Megiddo with Yigael Yadin and in excavations at Tel Arad and Tel Be'er Sheva with Yohanan Aharoni. He directed the excavations at Tel Beer Sheba, Tel Michal and Tel Gerisa and at Tel Yafo (ancient Jaffa) in 1997 and 1999.

Herzog is among Israeli archaeologists who say that “biblical archaeology is not anymore the ruling paradigm in archaeology and that archaeology became an independent discipline with its own conclusions and own observations which indeed present us a picture of a reality of ancient Israel quite different from the one which is described in the biblical stories.”[1]

In 1999 Herzog's cover page article in the weekly magazine Haaretz "Deconstructing the walls of Jericho" attracted considerable public attention and debates. In this article Herzog cites recent scholarship to support that "the Israelites were never in Egypt, did not wander in the desert, did not conquer the land in a military campaign and did not pass it on to the 12 tribes of Israel. Perhaps even harder to swallow is the fact that the united monarchy of David and Solomon, which is described by the Bible as a regional power, was at most a small tribal kingdom. And it will come as an unpleasant shock to many that the god of Israel, Jehovah, had a female consort and that the early Israelite religion adopted monotheism only in the waning period of the monarchy and not at Mount Sinai".[2] Herzog's article was criticized by Hershel Shanks, editor of the Biblical Archaeology Review, in a letter to the same publication.[3]

Herzog is a co-author with Israel Finkelstein of a 2007 paper which opposes claims made by Eilat Mazar who unearthed what she believed was King David's palace in Jerusalem, but is now known as the Large Stone Structure.[4] Most scholars rejected Mazar's identification of this site as David's palace.[5] Herzog et al.'s paper further argued that the structure that Mazar excavated should be downdated. The attempt to re-date the site received a detailed response by Amihai Mazar.[6] Agreeing with Mazar, Avraham Faust noted that Herzog's paper was written prior to the publication of all the excavation material and that its full publication was sufficient to settle the debate in favour of Eilat Mazar's interpretation of the dating of the site.[7]

Publications
Herzog has written a number of books and articles, including:

Beer-Sheba II: The Early Iron Age Settlements (1984)
Excavations at Tel Michal, Israel (1989) ISBN 978-0-8166-1622-0
Archaeology of the City: Urban Planning in Ancient Israel and Its Social Implications (1997)[8]
The Arad Fortresses 1997. [Hebrew].
Redefining the centre: the emergence of state in Judah (2004)[9]

I try to never post derisive photos and mock the way religious communities of the world dress, and that includes Muslim hijabs, Buddhist robes, Hasidic Jew side curls, yarmulkes, Sikh turbans, and Amish clothes. Many years ago I might have made a joke about Mormon underpants, which I regret.
