Seriously?

Something I never thought would happen, the reddest of all red states appears to be moving toward very light blue.

Tuns of Texas Congressmen are retiring and its clear they see the writing on the wall. No Democrats are retiring...

Polling data currently puts Biden ahead of tRump when put in a head to head poll.

If Texas turns blue... Would the Republicans ever win a national election again? What does a post-trump Republican party look like? Would they return to "traditional cultural values" or push forward with race and support for the one percent?

"W" gave us Obama. I just can't wait to see what tRump will give us.

Trump has been unable to undo Obama, the next President will undo Trump in 6 weeks.

when a relatively unknown like Beto comes within a few points of toppling long-time GOP stalwart Teddy Cruz...……..definitely

NO. Texas will not turn blue for decades and wondering if it will is frantic flailing. ;)

"W" gave us Obama.

AND; Obama gave us the House and the Senate and TRUMP! ;)

As predicted with the demographic shift

Texas Is Bracing for a Blue Wave in 2020. Yes, Texas.
Why Republicans are getting very nervous about maintaining their stranglehold on the Lone Star State.

Texas will be "very light" blue when Democrats can win one state-wide election which has not happened since 1994. A close loss does not count.

Beto lost.....

But he did way better than Democrats normally do, especially considering he was unknown at the time.
Between the growing Mestizo population and the Boomers dying off, Texas is slowing becoming blue. I'm not saying whether that's good or bad, just that it's happening.

Texas is hardly the "reddest of all red States"... You seem to be forgetting about States such as West Virginia, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Kentucky, Alabama, South Dakota, Tennessee, Arkansas, Idaho, Nebraska, and etc... You know, most of the country that is between the coastlines...

Texas gained almost nine Hispanic residents for every additional white resident last year
New census estimates show Texas' Hispanic population growth continues to surpass white population growth, with Hispanics on pace to soon represent a plurality.

Here's why the once solidly Republican state of Texas could become a ticking time bomb for Trump's GOP

Republicans' margins of victory in the state have been narrowing over the course of the last few election cycles, especially in Texas' suburban areas.

And over the course of just a few weeks in July, four incumbent Republican congressmen all decided to call it quits and not run for re-election in 2020 in what some commentators have termed a "Texodus."

"The Latino vote: A Texas tale of growth and misconceptions"

"One of the main miscalculations in assessing the Latino vote has been comparing the share of the Hispanic vote with their share of the population, which led to a “conclusion that they have a shockingly low electoral participation,” said De Leon, the county’s voter outreach director.

One of the main miscalculations in assessing the Latino vote has been comparing the share of the Hispanic vote with their share of the population, which led to a “conclusion that they have a shockingly low electoral participation,” said De Leon, the county’s voter outreach director.

A popular misconception is assuming that because 39 percent of the Texas population is Hispanic that their electoral participation should be of similar proportions. In reality, fewer than 5 million of Texas’ 11 million Hispanics are eligible to vote. That’s only 20 percent of the state population and about 30 percent of all registered voters."
