Is Political discussion dead for this season?

You posted a lot and it will take me a while to sort through it, first let me say I am very impressed. You have really thought this out and taken the extra step to publish real thoughts about these issues. You have taken this hobby of posting a step further and acted on it. I love it.

I read your blog about Trump's soul. Here is the problem with it. I don't disagree with your basic assumptions about the soul of the candidates, but I disagree with your conclusion about an egomaniac such as Trump being tied to success. He is only tied to being able to convince himself he has been successful. A man like Trump has spent decades developing that ability, but its pure showmanship.

Trump has illustrated over and over again that he has the ability to see himself in mirrors distorted by his brain to reflect success no matter the outcome. He declared victory when he lost. He has repeatedly cast his bankruptcies as normal "business practices". You can see old interviews where he claims businesses he is involved in are performing "terrifically" when the facts later show they were not.

We have had presidents who refuse to hear any information that does not fit their preconceived narrative, I believe its what got us into Iraq. Colin Powel famously warned Bush that his Iraq assessment was incorrect, and was famously pushed out of the inner circle. Trump is not simply an egomaniac, he is a true narcissist. The difference is that he is unwilling to believe or see anything that does not confirm that he is anything but perfect and a step above the normal human. This is dangerous in a man with power. Trump will declare victory no matter what the outcome and knows ahead of time he will never allow himself to be held accountable for anything. A person like this does not live in reality but a universe manipulated by ego that prevents reality from being acknowledged by the brain.

He cant do that. His success has to be validated by public opinion. Consider the bankrupcies and everything else. He is calling it a success because the public doesnt mind it and it gave him wealth.

In order for his ego to be satisfied he has to leave office with people clamoring for him to be put on mount rushmore.

If anything you can see in trump the tremendous need for public validation.

I don't agree, people like Trump will call anything a success. They tell themselves what they did was a success no matter how disastrous it was. They may feel insecure about it and try to convince the public for reassurance but that's after the fact. When you ask Trump, he says he has never met with anything but tremendous success in anything he has ever done.

The mans definition of success is also fucked up. Public validation is a terrible measure of success of a president, its fleeting and its based on image not reality.

For many years after the invasion of Iraq, the Public validated Bush's decision to invade. It was only much later, with the benefit of hindsight that we almost all agree it was a terrible mistake.

You sure you aren't talking about Obama and his "saved jobs" rhetoric?

regarding the first one i think that he is the only one whose "soul" or internal motivation is beneficial for the US. He is an egomaniac who will only be satisfied if he is the best which helps the country. Here I wrote more in detail about it here https://tsukesthoughts.wordpress.com/2016/03/29/soul-of-the-candidates/

regarding healthcare it is really all about america first. The reason why we cant have proper healthcare is that our drug costs are too high. Our drug costs are high because companies recoup their investments here for research instead of europe which is price controlled. Like NATO for the military we are subsidizing their healthcare. America first means we put up our own price controls so everyone has to chip in for the research costs. I wrote more about it here https://tsukesthoughts.wordpress.com/2016/03/29/research-colony/

Regarding afghanistan. Leave it alone and if they hit us first hit back harder than they do. Just make sure the revenge attacks are always certain and disproportionate (1000 times the damage they do)

Regarding deporting. Combination of everify and law enforcement as well as cutting off beenfits. Thats the logical way. If you want a humane way he can do this

1. Cut of all benefits to them so that they have to turn themselves in

2. Declare that all post offices or **insert random building** here will be an extension of the mexican embassy (i.e. mexican soil) for one week.

3. Illegal immigrants fill out a form. If they have steady job and are contributing to the economy they can have a temporary work visa as they apply the right way after a fine of course. On the plus side they are now entitled to minimum wage. They have to go to the post offices or whatever first so they will be deported to mexican soil

4. any crinimal record of any sort and you go back to mexico. If you dont have a job you go back there as well. If your a student who is passing you can stay on an student visa while your regular application goes thru.

Any thoughts? Technically if they go to the post office they could be considered to have been deported. This way we get the best ones and the rejects go back to mexico.

Okay, now Healthcare!!!

The cost of medication is only one of a multitude of problems with America's healthcare system. You brought a great point that I had never considered about how we end up paying for medical research for the rest of the world. That blows my mind that we end up doing that, really twice. The government pays for a lot of the R&D in the first place, then we give tax breaks for it, then we don't control the costs while the rest of the world does. That MUST be fixed.

It is however very simplistic to suggest that fixing this issue would solve the healthcare problem in our country, and while you have identified a problem, you have not identified a solution...

What would Trump do to fix the medical cost crisis? What would he do to fix the rest of the healthcare problem in our Country, what is his plan? Does he have one, or is it to simply say... It will be terrific over and over again?

that actually should be enough. Basically you say f u to the other nations and put up price controls. If they want any further medical research then they have to raise theirs so the research costs can be paid.

The medicine prices are the biggest part of healthcare AND with maintenance meds they recurr. once you get that done the simple stuff like selling insurance accross state lines will fix the rest.

I think you underestimate how massive an improvement price controls are for drugs. Just doing that will already satisfy most americans.

There is actually a super secret plan that Trump never talks about. You know the wall thing with an extra side of deportation? Remember how the current complaint now is that the not enough people pay for insurance and the healthy cannot cover for everyone else, like too many people are getting subsidies? Well your going to be removing a big portion of those who cannot pay and are more likely to be unhealthy and welcoming back the desirables who can. Mexico can take care of the rest :) synergy.

So you honestly believe that telling other nations to fuck off unless they charge as much as our corporations do for medicine will solve the problem with Health Care? Wow, you are deluded about the problem. A huge rate of inflation in the healthcare sector, not just medicine coupled with a large rate of Americans without insurance has made health care increasingly unaffordable for average Americans. When those who cant afford it get health care, and they do, the cycle is perpetuated by adding to the price for the insured. Its a Catch-22 that will not be solved by telling other nations to fuck off over medicine prices.

I haven't even heard Trump make that claim.

The wall claim could possibly help with the healthcare crisis but I suspect not, there will not be a meaningful number of deportations. Just amping up the threat of deportation causes the "illegals" to go underground and makes them less likely to seek early care and thus will make their healthcare bill even higher when they do finally end up in a hospital.

the wall is a jobs program. What really gets illegals out is everify and other things to make it impossible for them to work. The wall also sends a chilling message for future illegals.

Yes when teh other countries realize that the US now knows what is being done they will raise their price controls. After all they understand it is unfair for the US to pay everything. and of course you dont need to charge as much as the us is being charged now. If everyoen pid their fair share then the US and the other countries would be able to put some price controls instead of US paying for everything now.

I think that to imagine the fix is, "make other countries pay their fair share" is fantasy land.

I am not against making others pay up, but our health care system has much more fundamental flaws than that.

2 flaws. Too many people cant pay. Prices too high.

2 flaws. Too many people cant pay. Prices too high.

Too much profit taken at the Corporate level.
Too much dependence on large corporations.
Too much reliance on ER treatment.
Not enough incentive for preventative care.
Not enough access to quality affordable preventative care.
Too much waste in the facilities.
Screwed up priorities focused on extending life at all costs.
Not enough focus on quality of life.
No price controls.
Way too much ordering of unnecessary tests and unnecessary visits for profit.

I know there are many varied problems inside but you have to look at the big picture first. A lot of these things are morality problems which a president really cant do anything about or things bout medical standards.

No one system will fix it all but you take care of the biggest problems first prices too high and people cant pay which improves the system tremoundously already and let the professionals inside the system fix the nuts and bolts while you take care of other stuff.

there will be plenty of time to compare the Democrat and Republican nominees after they are chosen.......otherwise, we might waste a great deal of time discussing Hillary......

Prices are a product of regulation.
People can't pay is a product of a terrible economy + prices.
