Is Cain toast?

Damo has been conversing so long with OneCell and Jughead, he has adopted their habit of reading and hearing things out of context when they fit his agenda. He wants to hold Cain accountable LITERALLY because Damo is acting retarded, like his buddies. It's best to try and overlook it... such a sad chapter in our message board history.

Actually, I put it directly in context. I've had that habit for a long time. I consistently say "I would have advised against that" about politicians on both sides and I say why. I have Onceler and Dixie both constantly getting upset over what I say and trying to dismiss it, usually like this. However, I know that because of who they are, and their incapacity to ever see even the slightest mistake because of partisan goggles they must defend any action, however misled by any candidate among their party.

That sentence, and in the context he put it, was a mistake.

No, again, that IS WHAT HE SAID IN CONTEXT... When we parse it out and make it mean what we want it to mean, that is OUT of context. He didn't make a mistake, you misheard him, because you wanted to mishear him, because you don't like Cain and hope he loses.

No, it is not. I placed the context around it, you try to strip it down to fit what you wanted it to be about. It's a regular habit of an apologist.

Dix, it was a mistake, not the frickin' holocaust. You're overreacting to a simple opinion based on what he stated.

He first spoke in the context of sexual allegations, then expanded and said "In fact, I have never acted inappropriately with anybody, ever." This is an expansion away from the original context of the press conference, and IMO it is a foolish mistake.

And you are wrong. I like Cain, I like him far better than Perry. I can't tell you how much more I like Cain than Perry.

That's always possible. Politics is a strange beast. I still say, if he survives this he'll be inoculated against almost any attack. It will be "Teflon Cain" running against a man with the worst jobs numbers of the modern era. Also, if he survives this I think he'll be the candidate.

I don't think he'll survive though. He hires the Ramsey's attorneys, people from CO will remember John and Patsy Ramsey better than most, but this guy is a piece of work. Then uses him as a front... says he's never, no never, acted inappropriately. Who is he? Christ?

I'm thinking that the presser he ran will bite him.

But, as I said, I could be wrong. And the worse it gets the more likely he'll be the candidate if he survives it.

I hope he survives, I hope he is the nominee, it would mean a tsound defeat or the Republicans.

With the crop of canidates I really dont see how the Republicans win this election. BUT there is a lot of time between now and then.

No, you didn't put it in context, you took it out of context. In a speech addressing sexual harassment allegations, Cain said he never acted inappropriately with anybody, ever. It is clear to me and millions of others, he meant he had never sexually harassed anyone, since that would be in the context of what he was talking about at the time. What you are doing, is taking what he said out of context, and pretending he said something he clearly did not say. You misunderstood it because you took it out of context, and now you want to claim semantics, and you are correct, the sentence (out of context) is dubious. Technically, it was a mistake for Cain to have phrased his thought that way, but in context of what he was talking about, people understood what he meant... except morons like you and OneCell, apparently.

And Perry? Perry? Are you serious? Is he out of single digits yet? I think Ron Paul is polling better than Perry! How about Cain or Romney, Dumo? Which one of those do you like best? Oh... let me guess, Romneycare, because he don't believe in Jeebus as much!

Perry at one time was tied for the lead.

I like Cain, dude. I believe he is getting bad advice that will end his campaign, you think he can survive.

I say that if he survives he'll be inoculated and that I hope he does because of that, you say I hate him.

I say that if he survives he'll not just be the nominee, but the next president. You say I hate him.

I point out that in that conference, and in that paragraph, he spoke first in the context of sexual accusations, then expanded further to include "anyone ever" which is a mistake you say "nuh-uh"....

Again he is either not taking advise or receiving bad advice and making it less likely that his campaign will survive this, saying he has never ever acted inappropriately with anybody ever is a stupid thing to say.

He didn't expand the press conference further to include anything, Damo. He was holding a press conference specifically to address sexual harassment allegations. What he said in one paragraph was pertaining to the same topic as what he said in all paragraphs, it was the purpose and point of the press conference. What the fuck are you smoking today?

You want to keep yammering that he has been given bad advice, and shouldn't have said this or that... but you aren't telling us what he SHOULD have said! You take exception with Cain saying he's never acted inappropriately with anyone, ever.. well, what would your brilliant ass have said? Yeah, maybe I've done some things that were inappropriate.... (NEXT DAY HEADLINE: CAIN ADMITS TO INAPPROPRIATE ACTS!) Campaign OVER! You fucking dumbass! They are literally laying in wait, both the Democrats AND establishment Republicans, for this guy to "admit" he did something wrong, so they can scream it from every rooftop... and you think he should have thrown them a bone? Are you completely out of your fucking mind? I like his stance... I haven't done anything inappropriate with anyone, at any time. Period! Now.... do you have some PROOF that he did? Show it! If not, shut the fuck up and move on... or better yet, get back to the actual ISSUES the voters are concerned with!

Sounds like it's starting to sink in for Dix that he'll be pulling the lever for a universal healthcare guy.

We should start a pool: how soon before we see a thread with a title like "Mitterific!!!", expounding on his many similarities to Reagan?

Perry at one time was tied for the lead.

In what poll? The Karl Rove/Fox News GOP Establishment Goons poll?

Perry has been a complete flop from the outset. In spite of all the build-up from the establishment, he has simply failed to resonate with the voters as he had anticipated, and each debate, he sinks himself a little more. If it weren't for Newt Gingrich, his would be the most disastrous campaign so far. In fact, Newt is actually gaining some ground lately... Perry might actually have the most disastrous campaign.

Yes, he did. You don't say, I didn't act sexually inappropriately, then add: in fact I "have never acted inappropriately with anybody ever". That is absolutely expanding off subject.

No, I would have advised him to not do that presser at all. If he did it I would have told him to stick to the subject of the presser and not to expand, and to absolutely avoid saying you'll take a lie detector test, to turn that BS back onto the "journalist" asking the question by asking them a question instead of answering that.

I wouldn't say "no", but I wouldn't agree to take one either. Answer that question with a question and only with other questions and move quickly to the next question.

Anyway. He expanded, he shouldn't have. It was a bad plan because he gave them that little thing to use in the ad if they find that one thing he did...

No, it's not... IF YOU RECOGNIZE CONTEXT! You are intentionally IGNORING the context.

Political double talk? Is that what you think voters wanted to hear? Cain obfuscating, not really answering the questions, and giving vague open-ended responses? That's what you think he should have done, really? I think you've lost your fucking mind.

I wouldn't say "no", but I wouldn't agree to take one either. Answer that question with a question and only with other questions and move quickly to the next question.

Ahh, more political double talk? Because we all LOVE the polished and poised politician who can't give a straight answer, right?

Anyway. He expanded, he shouldn't have. It was a bad plan because he gave them that little thing to use in the ad if they find that one thing he did...

I disagree, it was only a bad answer if it wasn't the truth. If his opponents want to go out there and dig up some trivial bullshit on him, so be it... I think the voters are smart enough to see what the hell is going on, and his supporters know his character, they aren't abandoning him. If he wins the nomination, the choice will be Cain or Obama, and I really don't think speculation as to whether he may or may not have "acted inappropriately" 14 years ago, is going to be on the mind of the average voter. Oh well, I guess we get 4 more years of Obama, since Herman may have made a pass at a woman 14 yrs ago! ...Right!

Cain is done, the white trash teabagger wing will go down with the ship. The ship is most defiantly hit and taking on water.

Really? Every poll I am seeing has him tied with Romney.
I guess you put your hands over your eyes every time I put up intrade Romney 70 Cain 5
After its obvious to even the teabaggiest on Wednesday after super Tuesday we'll have to pry Dixtard from cain's nuts.

Intrade is speculation on who is odds on favorite to win the nomination. I admit, not many people give Cain a chance, even his supporters say he probably won't win the nomination... hell, I have said it myself! None of that changes the fact he is tied with Romney in the polls, and the VOTERS will ultimately decide... not Intrade.
